She wasn’t looking for admiration. She just wanted to be seen — without being made into a lesson except when she's the one teaching the lessons. Her expression says: “Don’t waste my time with your expectations.”
Speaking of lessons, I am currently at Chapter 575 of Lord of the Mysteries (Volume 3)!!!! It's been about a month since I started. So, we get a clearer glimpse of Vice Admiral Iceberg, Edwina Edwards. A pirate captain, yes — but also a scholar and teacher, leading her crew through daily sessions of theology and mysticism. She’s elegant and composed, soft-spoken yet commanding. Well—quiet until it’s time to teach, and honestly, she’s always in teacher mode. And her crew are totally in love and devoted to her so I guess beauty and brains is a formidable combination.
So far, she’s one of the most rational, self-possessed characters we’ve met, and I really hope she stays on the side of allies. Because if she ever switches sides? That would be a dangerous mind to go up against.
I successfully posted one of my clients to meeting tomorrow so I'll be home today reading leisurely.
Well enjoy the rest of the weekend!
