LUV in need.

in LUVHBIT Communitylast year (edited)

There's no need to beat around the bush here. The account that distributes LUV is in need of Resource Credits (RCs) to keep the LUVbot running steadily. So...

If you have any RCs to spare, would you consider delegating some to @LUVshares?

Checking your RCs is easy. Delegating RCs is easy. Three tools I know of are:

  1. PeakD.com - go to your wallet, then click the magnifying glass icon, then choose “RC delegation”
  2. Ecency.com - choose your “Profile”, then “Resource Credits”
  3. https://primersion.com/rc

Personally, I have nearly all of my RCs delegated (90+% or so) and still interact fine on chain. It depends on how much HP you have, but there's a good chance delegating RCs wouldn't even be noticed. Plus, if you ever delegate and then change your mind, you can always simply undelegate or adjust the delegation amount.

Given the current LUV RC situation, I see three possible things that could happen and three outcomes:

  1. LUVshares gets more RCs and LUV goes on.
  2. Some changes are made to slow the rate that LUV is given out. This would be done by raising the required amount of LUV needed to be held in order to call the bot command.
  3. With no change, given the current RC drawdown rate, the LUVbot will eventually stop. (To be clear, I think it would still run, only in a very sputtering and broken cycle as RCs are replenished, spent, bot stops, RCs replenished, spent, bot stops, etc.)

Thanks for reading and for any consideration on this.

Here's some more information on Resource Credits from the HiveWiki.

Edit: Some wonderful Hivers have stepped up and delegated some RCs to @LUVshares. I mention this because if you look at https://hiveblocks.com/@luvshares you'll see the current RC amount. Right now as I type, it looks great (thanks to those Hivers!). You might wonder, "Why is he asking for more RCs? Plenty are there!"

Earlier today, LUVshares' RCs were slowly but steadily drawing down and had been for several days. RCs are like continually pouring water into a bucket that has a hole in the bottom. The water (RCs) flow in at a steady rate from the spigot. The water (RCs) flow out out a steady rate as well. If the outflow is faster than the inflow, like this morning, the bucket would soon be empty. Thanks to those Hivers today, the inflow is now faster than the outflow.

Going forward, we'll see what happens. The crypto winter seems to be thawing a bit. That's great! With that thawing there might be a renewed interest in engagement tokens, like LUV. If that transpires, and if more users begin sharing LUV with other Hivers, then the hole in the bucket would grow, the outflow of RCs would increase, and things would need to be reassessed again.

For now, thank you to those who delegated! The Hive community is wonderful. 😃

Thanks for heads up. I’ll see if I have some spare. My HP stack is not so big yet 💙

Thank you for even considering it.

I think I managed to delegate some. Don’t wanna go without my fav tipping tokens 😉💙

Yes, I see that you did. I understand about delegating RCs being new and although its easy, it's kind of tricky to deal with the amounts and what what they actually mean. I think the tools will improve over time. Thanks again so much.
!LUV

Yesss! There are way too many zero’s, which makes it more confusing, but I’m glad I managed 😁

Still not entirely sure how many RC's I need for transactions etc... will delegate 1,000.00b RC for now, and see what effect it has on my account.

I'll reassess in a couple of weeks and adjust up or down as required

Lots of random tokens on here, but I really love the !LUV token :-)

Amen to the "still not entirely sure..." comment. Delegating and dealing with RCs is tricky. Delegating is easy, but knowing how much is hard to figure out. I've been tweaking too. I think the tools will eventually improve in the future to help give some better ideas, hopefully on this anyway.

There is a tool that shows details on RC usage, see "RC costs" section at https://crrdlx.websavvy.work/wiki/doku.php?id=wiki:resource-credits It's kind of mathy, but it's there. For me, I do what you plan to do...test it, practice, wait and see, change, go from there.

Thanks so much for your help.

Here you go, increased mine from 100b to 240b

Hope I can learn more about this too, just bear with me🤗 I'm a newbie and still groping my way, even on engagement..hope someone can show me the rein😁

What is it you're wondering about? RCs? Or just things in general. I made this which might help answer some questions: https://crrdlx.websavvy.work/wiki/doku.php?id=start Or just ask people questions. Tag me and I'll help.

When we want to remove the RC delegation we made to another account, does this process complete immediately? Or does this process depend on a time like Hp delegation?
I'm going to RC delegation to you, but there was a problem and I need to fix it.
!LUV !LOLZ

Sorry, but I don't know the answer as to whether it's immediate or not. But, I THINK it is immediate...I've never heard of a cool down time with RC delegation. (That's something I might ask around about.)

Thank you so much for even considering!

Just an update on your question: I asked in the Hive Discord and I'm still not 100% sure I understand everything, but the answer was that when you undelegate RCs it happens immediately. It's not like unSTAKING HP. (I think unrelenting HP is immediate also.) However, after undelegating RCs, you have to allow them to replenish (this is usual as I understand it).

It's an interesting situation. The RC delegation that I canceled still hasn't gotten back to me. 🤷‍♀️
By the way thanks for asking 😀

This issue still has me confused. I still don't know if they come back to you or if they must be rebuilt up. Below is the dialogue I got. Maybe it can make sense to you or anyone reading it and can explain.

Honestly, this confused me too.
And the RCs I delegated still haven't returned. 😅🤷‍♀️

I do enjoy the LUVbot experience. Perhaps these small RCs from many fellow LUVbot fans can keep it running. Thank you!
150 RC to @luvshares.png

Every little bit helps, thank you so much!
!LUV

😉🤙 cool! never did that before..

I hear you. I learn things on Hive all the time. The RC delegation thing is rather new (since HF26). Some RC and links on this type of stuff at https://crrdlx.websavvy.work/wiki/doku.php?id=wiki:resource-credits

Thank you so much! It helps.

Here's 322.52b RC from me. I don't use a lot of my RCs so this sounds like a great way to have them utilized.

Thank you so much. I agree that for many people, we have extra RCs laying around. Hard Fork 26 was great in splitting HP from RC. Thank you.

the luv bot could upvote some post and get some HP in return to get more RC, idk if the bot already do curation

It doesn't automatically upvote/curate. I do it manually when I get a chance.
