Brazilian Revolution / 2022

The analysis I make below is independent of ideology. It is an investigation undertaken from the point of view of an impartial observer. I am seeking to approach the truth in the light of objective facts.

During the 2013 demonstrations and protests against president Dilma, the Brazilian people showed their dissatisfaction and desire for changes in the face of institutionalized corruption in Brazilian politics.

We were already in the process of revolution against the political system and the so-called "professional politicians," who specialize in sucking up public money for their interests.

With Dilma's impeachment, there was a period of calm.

Then with the victory of Jair Bolsonaro in the election for president and the exit from the scene of the Left (which was the target of criticism at the time due to the corruption scandals), which had remained in power for more than a decade, a certain tranquility was established without major popular uprisings.

This means that Bolsonaro's victory was much more a response against the corrupt system than a right-wing movement. Different political views, but a general and spontaneous revolt.

All were unhappy with the scourge of a political system institutionalized for a long time that functions as a mechanism of power that does not represent or work in line with the interests of the people but with the particular interests of enrichment and self-promotion of these same professional politicians.

The seed of the revolution was already there, but it was incubated during the last few years, perhaps in the hope that something could change with the new government. In this sense, the Bolsonaro phenomenon worked as a calmer, although little has changed structurally.

At the same time, in the last four years, there has been a kind of "cultural revolution" of the Right in social networks, and this movement has grown a lot.

While the left-aligned traditional media tried to paint a negative picture of the new president's image and was losing more and more audience, disgust at the PT and socialism intensified on social networks and independent channels on the internet. This has generated two bubbles that ignore each other and do not communicate with each other except through destructive criticism.

The pure widespread dissatisfaction has been transformed in recent years into a more or less organized movement, and the number of people who nurture total abhorrence of socialist projects, especially Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's PT, is in the millions.

If this analysis is correct, the defeat of Jair Bolsonaro now, far from being a victory for this system and this class of professional politicians from both the Left and the right, used to suck up the public machine without hindrance, could become your worst nightmare, since that, in the absence of the "appeaser" (Bolsonaro himself), we returned to the point where we were in 2013, with popular uprisings of significant proportions, with the aggravating factor that the anti-Lula and anti-PT mass grew vertiginously.

There are millions of people who have strengthened their imagination by absorbing ideas and knowledge along the lines, for example, of the thinker Olavo de Carvalho that previously did not even exist. These millions will not accept Lula's return in any way and have unshakable certainty in the alleged fraud of electronic voting machines.

We already have approximately 4 million protesters in Brasilia, so far protesting peacefully, but who can, from one moment to the next, lose patience and invade the congress with the objective of "putting order" in the house?

They are waiting for the Brazilian army to intervene to cancel the second round of the election. The military is waiting for a solution from the Legislature, which seems paralyzed, and in the meantime, tensions only increase.

On the other hand, the Judiciary only aggravates the situation with harsh measures that, far from helping, only intensify the protesters' spirits, for example, censorship on social networks, stratospheric fines against truck drivers, and freezing of company bank accounts. All of this brings us to the prospect of more strikes, shutdowns, and the rapid collapse of the country's economy.

Before the coup that took place after the events of 1964, military intervention was also supported en masse by the population. At that time, the people expected that there would be new elections in a short time. That's not what happened; we had a military dictatorship that lasted approximately two decades. What will happen now?

As long as the people peacefully protest and the Armed Forces do not interfere, an attitude is expected from the Legislature, which is paralyzed. The Legislature that represents this rotten system of corruption urgently needs to put its hand on its conscience and do something to avoid chaos.

Unfortunately, this class of "professional politicians" seems to be cowed and scared in our parliament. After being accommodated for so long, they now suffer from lethargy. They need to perceive that the country needs profound reforms, which they are unwilling to do because they will inevitably have to lose a large part of their privileges.

the congress (legislature) won't change anything or make any moves, but they are not cowed or scared, and also do not suffer any lethargy. they are just part of a (corrupted) system that works very well for them and they see no reason to change, no matter which party is in power. this is why Brazil will never change.
suggestion: next time post the portuguese version in the same post. posting the same content just translated in different posts is not well seen in hive ecosystem.

Yes, they don't want to change anything. Still, deep down in their conscience (in my opinion), they do have a particular fear of the popular uprising.

This revolt will only stop when something changes, even if they are superficial changes to calm the people.

Another aspect of congressional cowardice is their fear of the judiciary. Many there are dissatisfied with the STF but are afraid of going head-to-head and being punished.
