On a day of no return
absence became absence,
messages ceased,
in silence remained the presence.
Farewell came
with a rumble of stillness,
two distant souls
by fear or virtue.
Neither sought the other
in their farewell,
for fear or shelter,
protecting life.
What little was intact
in their wounded hearts,
lovers turning away,
destinies frowned.
Thus, in the cold silence
burning flames are extinguished,
they say goodbye soundlessly,
With sorrows that overwhelm.
Each to his own course,
without looking back,
keeping that fleeting love
that fleeting love.
