Grandma’s Story Time

Going to grandma’s house for the holiday is one of my favourite times of the year. Grandma’s house was always warm and smelled like cookies. Holidays are taken seriously not just in my nuclear family but also the extended ones.

I get to meet all my cousins at Grandma’s house and we get to do so much fun stuff together. We have all our games lined up as we spent weeks and weeks planning everything.

Today is the D-day and I can’t wait to meet all my cousins, we occasionally see one another but seeing them in Grandma’s house felt different and cool. I always look forward to it.

We arrived at Grandma’s house, we squealed in excitement as we hugged and fist-pumped. Our parents, uncles, and aunts were in a hurry to drop us and leave, I can’t blame them, this was the only time they got to take a break from the mummy and daddy’s duty, even I would be excited if the tables were turned.

We settled in, caught up with everyone, ate and it was time to listen to grandma’s stories.

Grandma is a genius when it comes to telling stories, she told them in a beautiful way that you can’t help but imagine everything and for a moment you feel like you are inside the story, watching and experiencing everything.

Grandma’s story today was about Little Red Riding Hood. According to Grandma it was a classic and I immediately agreed with her the moment I heard the beginning of the story.

It was an interesting story but very tragic. I felt so sad for Little Red Riding Hood for trusting the wolf.

Just like all grandma story times, she asked some questions and the people with the best answers were awarded with some treats.

This holiday was definitely going to be a memorable one and I can’t wait.

I can see a little girl in a red cloak working alongside a wolf and I feel she is fearless.
