What happened to my Eiffel Tower?

I had wanted to do this trip for a long time, until it finally came true. I am very excited because I will finally see the monument that I have wanted to see so much because of its great structure and because it is in the most romantic country par excellence, Paris.

We boarded that plane that would take us to my dreams. I was like walking on clouds. But we had to spend many hours riding the plane and traveling over clouds until the landing was made, I couldn't wait for that moment.

When through the loudspeakers the voice of the flight attendant was heard saying: Fasten your seat belts, we will land in a few seconds. Wow I felt my heart leap, we had finally arrived.

We rushed to take things to the Hotel, it wasn't much luggage, I just took my camera because I didn't want anything to get in the way when immortalizing my wish. I would take millions of photos from all angles of my favorite and dreamed monument.

I rushed to take a taxi, there are many on the streets of Paris. I gave him the direct order: Direct to the Eiffel Tower as fast as possible, please. You already want to be in front of my fulfilled dream.

When I got to the site I couldn't believe what I was seeing, my dreams had been saddened, my spirits had totally fallen.

I saw a large gray structure, 300 meters of dark iron, without light, without the colors that called my attention so much. Around him some gray clouds that silenced my soul and made him see a gloomy, lifeless and very sad place.

My legs trembled and I fell to my knees. I asked myself: What happened to my Eiffel Tower? Where did my colorful wonder go?

My dream and my heart were broken, I couldn't help but shed a few tears of sadness, the same one that my Eiffel Tower showed me.

I turned around and withdrew from the site, I did not want to continue observing that image. I preferred to continue with my photo, that image that he gave me of my bright, illuminated and colorful Eiffel Tower. Full of life and of people visiting it and with a clear and clean blue sky and all that set of things that made me want to get here.

Too bad it didn't go as planned, but at least you got the opportunity to see your dreams in reality.

Sometimes it's rather dreams are left as dreams

I agree with you and that was what I did to continue seeing my beautiful dream with its color. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

How sad that you couldn't that your Eiffel tower dreams were dashed. Could be most disheartening. Maybe you should have waited longer to see if the lights would go up?
I love the soul you put into this writing. Wonderfully scripted.🌺

Thank you very much for your comment on my blog, much appreciated.

You're most welcome.🤗

Hello @isabelpena; great entry in the contest. I enjoyed reading this and I liked it as the ending was unexpected. We don't root for sad endings, but they happen regardless. Often when least expected as it did in your story.

My takeaway from your piece is a reaffirmation that, those lovely memories of what turned out to be failed dreams, could also be cherished in our choice to move on.

Welcome, and good luck in the contest.

Thank you very much for your appreciation of my writing, I don't like sad endings either. but in this case, since I saw the photo, that feeling was transmitted to me because of how gray the Tower is, but it was my way of keeping the beautiful memory I have of the Eiffel Tower and my end is that I keep that beautiful memory. Thanks for visiting my blog friend @atyourservice

In reality, it looks not that amazing at all, right? You described the disappointment of a tourist (attraction) very well!

Great entry. Thank you for joining pic1000. 👌

Many thanks friends. I only wrote what I saw and what that image produced in me. I love the challenge A picture is worth a thousand words, thanks for doing it every week @freewriterhouse

I'm sorry your expectations didn't meet up with your imaginations, what you saw was far from what you had expected

It's okay, it's just a gray structure. The Eiffel Tower as I dream it lives in my mind so it will continue. Thanks for commenting on my post.

That's must have been very saddening to feel like you already had your dream before you only for it to be crushed. Maybe it would have been better for it to remain a dream.

I keep seeing her as I want to see her, like the one in the photos. Cheerful and colourful. Thanks for going through my post.

Oh, that's nice. You are welcome
