“Road in the Rain: The Journey Home”.

There is no long road, no, sir. I just have to walk the path that takes me home. Today is a rainy day, and today is just one of those days when I have to go back home in the rain. The good thing is that the sun is not there to accompany me on my way, and I can see where I’m going. At other times, it’s not the same; I’ve had to return home with the path only lit by a few lights along the way.

It’s a rainy day, as you can see in the picture, and the photo was taken by a neighbor who was walking behind me. She said to me, "Move ahead a little; I want to take a photo to send to your wife so she’ll know you’re already on your way home." I just said yes and posed for the photo, but more than posing, I just kept walking home. I’m carrying groceries—some food and vegetables that are necessary to feed my family—and I can say that my family is quite large: 16 people live in my house.

My wife, my daughters, my mother, my siblings, and their children—we are 16. But I’m not the only one who provides food for this battalion of people. My siblings and my wife also contribute financially to make the purchases. So, I happily walk in the rain with the food for my home, with the sun still there lighting my way. And I can’t leave out my neighbor—by the way, she’s walking with her husband, who is helping her with her groceries.

"Camino Bajo la Lluvia: El Viaje de Regreso al Hogar".

No existe un largo camino, no, señor. Solo me toca caminar el camino que me lleva a mi hogar. Hoy es un día lluvioso y justo hoy es uno de esos días cuando tengo que regresar a casa bajo la lluvia. Lo bueno de todo es que el sol no está allí para acompañarme en mi camino y puedo ver por dónde voy. En otras oportunidades no pasa igual; me ha tocado regresar a mi hogar y solo está el camino iluminado por algunas luces.

Es un día lluvioso, como lo puedes ver en la imagen, y la foto la tomó una vecina que viene detrás de mí. Ella me dijo: "Adelanta un poco, que quiero tomar una foto para enviarla a tu mujer y así ella sabrá que ya regresas a casa." Yo solo dije que sí y posé para la foto, pero más que posar, solo caminé hacia mi casa. Voy con todas las compras de algunos alimentos y verduras que son necesarias para alimentar a mi familia, y puedo decir que mi familia es muy grande: en mi casa vivimos 16 personas.

Mi esposa, mis hijas, mi madre, mis hermanos y sus hijos; somos 16. Pero yo no soy el único que aporta comida para todo ese batallón de personas. Mis hermanos y mi esposa también aportan su parte monetaria para hacer las compras. Así que voy feliz bajo la lluvia, con la comida para mi hogar y con el sol que aún está allí iluminando mi camino. Y no puedo dejar a un lado a mi vecina, quien, por cierto, va con su esposo, que la está ayudando con sus compras.
