Greeting Readers!

I hope that your week has been fantastic and that you're all going to have a chilled weekend!

I am hoping to get some writing done on Fledgeling, as I am in the middle of an interesting fight that will be highly amusing when you guys get to read it.

Enjoy the update for now!~

Saita jolted a little, unaware that Fell Dragon Kay was aware of the conversation. She had been far more conscious in the last few years than she had been in the last two centuries. While Saita tried to find the words to explain what happened, the queen tilted her head slightly, as if in confusion.

“Frenzy?” she asked.

Their histories may have been different, but they shared the same ability to mimic. She should have known that somewhere in this timeline, the queen would have found the ability to read minds.

Saita couldn’t help but feel a giant grin spread across her face. She could almost hear Saasha chiding her for allowing her mental defences to fall.

“I should have known you were in my mind when you mentioned the Fell Dragon.”

“The Dekai come with many skills, and they have a rich history of the strange. We don’t have a Fell Dragon in our timeline anymore. It’s believed that a predatory Fell Dragon destroyed it before it could develop.”

Saita, unsure about how this timeline had meant to have its Fell Dragon develop, didn’t mention that there was a strong chance that the queen was meant to be the Champion to destroy it.

“They aren’t wrong.” She said when she felt only what could be described as Kay gloating within the depths of her mind.

Kay indicated that she wanted an explanation.

“How much of the Fell Dragon’s history do you know?” she asked.

Shareik watched as the human was separated from the rest of her companions. She, and the one who fell with her, were going to fall into oblivion if he didn’t step in. He had reached into her mind to find a place of safety where she wouldn’t have an impact on a timeline. What he had come to learn was staggering. She was exactly what he needed in his fight against the Fell Dragon. Who would have thought that a tame Fell Dragon could be born the way that she had?

He guided her to a time where she had received help before. A time where they had known each other before the distrust had started. If he played his cards right, he could make her timeline again, but he needed to experiment first.

“Wait, wait, wait.” Said Kay slowly. “You mean you’re a Fell Dragon?”

“Not really. No one is sure what I am. I’m a Champion who defeated a Fell Dragon but retained all my faculties.”

“And the Fell Dragon that tore you apart? She is in your head?” asked Kartec.

“Yes.”

“Like the aids to the Dekai King?” asked Astin.

“Yes.”

“Why?” asked Kay.

That was a question that Saita wasn’t prepared for. She tried to remember the conversation she had well over two centuries ago.

“She saved me.” Sighed Saita, “From her fate. I was supposed to be trapped in the room she was in, but she had destroyed it. To save my life and break me away from the hold of the Heavenly, she gave up the freedom of her soul to guide me as a Fell Dragon.”

“But you never listened, did you?”

Kay’s words made the Fell Dragon almost rejoice within Saita and it made her feel like a knife was twisted in her chest. She had done nothing with the opportunity that either of the Kays had given her.

“No.” she whispered.

The queen nodded her head and seemed to think on the matter. Saita tried to quell the squirming of Kay’s mind with her own, but it was clear that she wouldn’t be placated now that she had been acknowledged after such a long time.

“May I speak to her?” asked the queen.

Saita snorted and said, “I am not an Ouija board, and she isn’t a demon. She can’t talk through me. It’s not like she has access to my body to do with it as she wishes.”

As far as you know.

That comment resulted in a mixture of anger and distrust in Saita.

Saita needs to be careful as there are eyes on her.
