Hello Hivers!
I would like to share to you my another weekend getaway to Dumaguete. We went to Siliman University at Dumaguete just to visit the Anthropology Museum. Actually, we had a hard time looking for the building until we found it in the corner of the university, we asked help from different students and security guard just for us to go there until we found it. As we enter the building, there's a signage going to the Museum, then, we paid a 100 pesos for the entrance each adult that will enter the premises.
This is me walking around the Siliman area looking for the Anthropology museum. It was full of trees and so relaxing to walk by.
The museum directions. Full of silence.
The moment that I entered the museum, it was full of artifacts and different things that was all old. I am glad that I got to experience another museum visit together with my friends. Most of the displays were things from Siquijor for sorcery use. Like sorcery doll, the different kinds of lana and many more.
The sample pictures indicated below are some proofs of the Sorcery in Siquijor.
This is the Haplit or what we called the Barang Doll. Amusing to actually see the doll in person. I even got goosebumps.
This is the ingredients on how to make the Haplit.
And the different kinds of lana which can cure different kinds of diseases a long time ago. They are also made of different kinds of leaf that are prayed for.
While walking through the museum, there's only one thing that captures my eye, the floating coffin, used before to transfer dead bodies to another place. It's made of wood or particularly the body part of the tree.
See? The museum really looks so cool and I learned a lot of things about the way people live. It has always been my hobby to visit different kinds of museums here in the Philippines. Hopefully, in different countries next time.
It’s great @mushpotato that you got to explore the history and culture of Siquijor.(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
I explored Siquijor too!
I never thought there would be a museum exactly like this, specifically showing something about the Barang. This kind of museum is kind of odd, right? 😲
Yes, I never even thought that it's all true and not just superstitious.
That museum was so nice
Yeps! Full of old things

I love museums, we can learn a lot of things from them. I've never been to one where sorcery items were displayed. They even display how it's made that is cool and creepy at the same time, hehe. Thanks for sharing :-)
The fossils displayed in the Museum are interesting.
I will absolutely include this tourist destination on my list of places to visit. 😊
Having fun and learning at the same time is a wonderful escapade.
