This is my post for #freewriters 2325 prompt no more training hosted by @mariannewest

The very first time I rode my husband's new bike he told me to hop on and ride it, I took off and realized I did not know how to stop it so I looked back at him and said how do I stop it? By looking back I got off the edge of the road into the soft sand. The front wheel went wobbling and I could not control the bike. I laid it on its side and jumped. Luckily I did not hurt his new bike. This was even before we got home with it.

That happened back in January, several weeks went by before I tried riding it again. This time I made a big circle around our neighborhood. My husband had told me to keep peddling, the motor kicks in to help make the peddling easier. He also said I can turn the handle and would not need to peddle. I kept trying to turn it but it did nothing so I had to peddle the entire time. Before I got home, my legs were hurting because I was not used to riding a bike.

When I came home he showed me on the top part of the handle, just above the grip is where the small thing that is about 2 inches wide that you have to turn to make it stay on. He always assumes that I know where something is at or that I know how to use something. But now that I knew where to turn it to stay on, I took it on another ride.

This time it was enjoyable, except for my hand hurting because I had to hold it on or the bike would stop running and I did not want to pedddle that far from home. Of course, it is on the right side and that is my bad hand. I felt like now I needed no more training and took it on a longer ride. When I came home, I told him I liked the speed it was going and he said it goes slower if I am not peddling, did I put it on a higher speed? I told him I was happy with my speed and did not know that I could make it go faster if that was what I wanted to do, which right now I did not want to go faster. I guess I have more training to do because I now find out that it has 3 speeds, the little computer looking thing on the left handlebar controls your speed and who knows what else.
