In my day of being in grade school, girls played many games on the playground. We played rich man poor man, this was a game where you start with your top button and touching each one you would say, rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief, doctor, lawyer, Indian chief. Whichever one you stopped on was the person who you would marry. I would always add fisherman and the girls would say I could not add to it so I would say it in my mind.
We had two long pieces of wood, I think they were 2x2s about 8 feet long and a girl would be on each end slapping them together while one girl stepped in between them, trying not to let the wood catch your foot. There was a song that was sung, but I can not remember what it was. They would not let that game be played in school nowadays.
We had these pipes with a crossbar like you would do pull-ups on, there were 3 levels and we would sit on them while hanging onto it with our hands and spin ourselves in circles sometimes with only one leg to hang on with, and of course, there were jungle gyms, everyone played on them. I might be wrong, but I do not think schools have merry go rounds now, either.
Some of us played marbles with the boys, we played for keeps, I had quite a few but not as many as some of the boys.
When we started to develop breasts there was a game we played, we would flex them while moving our arms back and forth and singing, we must, we must, we must, increase our bust. I guess I did not play this game as much as the other girls.
