After fifty years, I saw her again.
The same light shone in her eyes,
But her gaze was no longer that of that little girl,
That in my youth made me dream.
I approached her with nerves and emotion,
Remembering that love that once united us,
But when I saw her up close, I knew that things had changed,
And again she told me no.
Time had passed and with it our lives,
And though I had returned with hope in my heart,
She had already taken another course,
And on her lips, there was only a sweet goodbye.
