In the half-light

In the half-light
the illusion danced,
she seemed young,
radiant with emotion.
At the kiss of the lampposts
as she passed by on the pavement
she was embellished and her soul
was reborn sincere.
Fortunate night
promised her destiny,
proudly shone
on her fine path.
Girded in red satin,
desirable she felt,
with the shining necklace,
her presence gleamed.
In every step a whisper,
in every glow a dream,
under the starry mantle,
her charm was master.
She aspired to the impossible,
to the magic of the instant,
while the night was silent,
his resonant longing.
