Unseen Torment

His pencil once scratched lines without care or cost,
Detached observations of leaves on the breeze.
But now an unseen hand grips his heart fast,
Awakening passions he'd long cease to please.
She passed through his life in a radiant wave,
Her smile like the sunrise, her eyes stars above.
Now lonely nights find him captive to crave
Her laugh and her touch, the sweet torture of love.
His verses now bleed with the pain of life's load,
As verses of her run endless through his blood.
