“No buts. No solar panels, flexible or otherwise. No hundred cases of beer, or one case for that matter.”
“Captain, surely you know the General’s love of big parties…”
“The Old Man will be visiting your section of the front to see if it can hold out against another assault by the enemy. He’s not going there to destroy his liver.”

“I’ve heard enough. I don’t care if he’s your father. I can spare a tenth of the ammunition you asked for, maybe a twentieth of the food. That is all. Dismissed!”
