A pragmatic decision...

in Freewriters4 days ago

I've been thinking for a long time about whether to do it or not... I've been here for a long time, longer than I imagined at the beginning, I'm going for the long term with HIVE and I don't plan to ever divest... surely my stake, if HIVE still exists, will be part of my inheritance to my family.
However, one is not completely stupid and although it has cost me a lot to make this decision after so many years accumulating stake without any objective of extracting it in the future, I think the most rational thing is to "surf" the market if conditions allow it.
And I think that this year 2025 is bringing good conditions and will continue to bring them.
It would be even more stupid of me not to take advantage of the wave so, yes, I have decided to power-down my account...

But...

The final objective is to continue increasing my stake in HIVE, perhaps temporarily going through HBD whose stake I continue to increase, and then recover my HIVE by selling and even increase my stake.
The idea is that, do POWER-DOWN while this BULL RUN lasts and keep it in my HIVE wallet waiting for if we have a good rise again (1$ at least) to sell some of it in exchange for HBD and buy back lower when the wave goes down... Not rocket science in my opinion, but I think it is the process that should be played without a doubt...

Some people, like surely my unconditional follower @slobberchops, may find it unacceptable, he will surely withdraw his support since I would not meet his "requirements" to be voted for on his account but, well, even he I think knows how committed I am to HIVE according to my history here and I hope he understands that.
Let it be clear, I am not leaving HIVE, don't sound the alarm, I am just riding the wave and accumulating it within this blockchain.

That said, everyone should do what they want, I'm not going to criticize anyone for the action they take, especially in times of prosperity like the one we are living in. In the end, those of us who have a long-term vision remain in any circumstance enjoying the journey.

Everyone has their own circumstances and I don't blame you for doing so. I converted quite a bit of HBD into Hive when the price is lower and I haven't done much with that Hive. I believe in the platform but I don't think it's a wrong choice.

Respect for your openess, Eddie! I can understand your Motivation though I myself am going a different way. Power down HIVE is not an Option for me, at least if we get reasonable prices. I accumulated liquid HIVE over the last 12 months which is my only stake for sale.
If we should get absolute Crazy Price levels of beyond $5 for one HIVE I might reconsider things. We will see

As I said, I will maintain the liquid hive in my wallet, the point here is to have an "opportunity" on time. Again, the target is to get more HIVE at the end

Good luck! 🤝🏻

It's not ok that we need to have these disclaimer posts. But in a way understandable from the other side's point of view, since so many who seemed committed packed up and left.

I understand you completly. If I had more money in HP, I would also power down... By volatile asset you should move with.

Your decision is right, staking Hive and HBD will accelerate your growth. You are creating a beautiful life.

It's a good choice, I'm sort of doing this, no power down, I keep staked the hive I get staked, liquid hive I'll wait to swap to hbd which is a thing I really love
