Don't Protect Him

The third-rate singer sat at a dining table in the corner of the last restaurant in town. Nothing on the menu looked familiar. A miserable-looking kitten shrugged against his leg.
Kschhht, get lost, he tried to get rid of the uninvited guest that already begged for attention and food before dinner was served.

There's no need to read the menu, he heard a girl say to the boy she shared a table with, they serve one dish only on Tuesdays. Better order, you can trust the duck, or we are too late for the meeting. They want to modernize the town.

I don't care if they modernize or not, all I want is my bike back you know I planned the ride for tomorrow morning right?

While eating his duck he thought about the mountain plateau he had in mind. He was ready to go and didn't want to be involved in the town's fights between citizens and the government.

Time to go, she tried to pull him by his sleeve off the table.

Let me be, I told you this is not my fight.

The singer who had overheard every word stood up and did a step in the direction of the upset girl.

Ma'am, why...

Don't protect him, she yelled at the stranger who dared to interfere in her private business, what do you know!

Don't frame it on him, the boy said, my apologies for my sister sir. She cares a lot about this town, just like most people. Sorry sis I have to go, you know I have my own battle to fight.

The first citizen watched the two leave. He knew he would meet her again in a few minutes. It was clear the citizens weren't as enthusiastic about modernizing the town as he was. He decided to listen and hoped they had a plan to keep the town on the map. Just like the man with the mountain bike, he knew it would be a lonely fight on the top but he was ready to fight the battle and end it once and for all.

I see a guy riding his bike
It feels as if someone is watching him. It must be lonely and cold at the top. He doesn't seem to care and is focused on his ride, to the birds he's no threat just part of the environment.

Good job with the prompts, I am having trouble with this one-first citizen- I am yet to see what comes to me.

Nice use of all those prompts, plus the picture!
