Within my soul a darkness lingering dwells,
Stirred by his touch with flame and blackest spell.
His eyes could summon what in shadows slept,
My last remaining shards of reason swept.
Demons he knew just how to wake in me,
Those inner fiends who logic's reign defy.
As passion's torrents through my being tore,
Reason surrendered to love's conquering war.
In throes of madness' sweet and fierce attack,
My will succumbed, lost in the shadows' black.
Demons he roused to overwhelming might,
Who seized my mind and flesh through endless night.
O lover, you with demons' magic lure
Plunged my soul in madness deep and obscure.
