Blockchain Poets ~ Week in Review for Sept 27 to Oct 3 ~ Hive SBI Winner, too

in Blockchain Poets3 years ago

Here are the poems published to Blockchain Poets for the week of Sept 27–Oct 3. Let's have a look at the poems then we will get down to the rewards.

This Week's Poems

There we go. Wow, 27 poems! We are growing more and more. At this rate I'm going to have to find help doing these posts.

If you have time, check them out and see what you think. And if you like any, let the author know about it by leaving a great comment!

Comments, or Lack Thereof

Unfortunately, comments were down this week. Many of you didn't leave any comments, ignoring rule number one of Blockchain Poets which is to leave two comments for every poem you post.

We had a lot of new face this week so they might be forgiven for overlooking the rule, but a few of you have been with us a while so you should know this rule by now.

Guys, as poets (writers, artists), we all love when we get feedback. Getting that comment showing that others appreciate our writing really can make us feel special. The point of this rule is to spread that love around, to help encourage and motivate each other, to give back what we take. This is the very definition of a community: we help each other out. Engagement is a big part of that helping each other out. Please in the future start leaving comments. Also, if someone does leave you a comment on your post, please reply to it. If nothing else, just to tell them thank you for reading and caring enough to take the time to write a comment.

I don't want to shame anyone, so I will mention all this week's participating poets. I'm sure you know if you didn't comment. In the future please do so. @aa9 @anj @davidbright @emrysjobber @fatma-27 @hitz75 @jacco25 @joseitosanchezs @lv99-rd-chocobo @mavido @repayme4568 @rikarivka @sisc @tahminasyed @temitopemichael @thecreativecasa @weone @yahia-lababidi

Next week I will start contacting people and mentioning it if they still aren't leaving comments.

That said, I want to give a shoutout to @temitopemichael for leaving some great comments and a lot of them. We should all try to copy him.

Winner of Hive SBI

Excluding myself and @moeknows, that puts 18 people in the running for 5 shares of Hive SBI this week. I am including all of you this time, but starting next week anyone who doesn't leave at least two comments for every poem they post will not be included in this drawing.

I threw you guys into a random picker...

and the winner is...

Congratulations @temitopemichael! 5 Hive SBI headed your way.

(if you aren't sure what SBI is, it's kind of lifetime payment system. You can read about it here)

And thank you all for your wonderful poems!

Next Week ~ Next Prize

Next week will be the same reward — shares of Hive SBI.

The exact amount of Hive SBI depends on how many poets submit poems for the week.

0-9 poets - 1 SBI
10-19 poets - 5 SBI
20–49 poets - 10 SBI

(Note, these numbers don't include @moeknows or myself.)

I'm changing it up a little for the coming week in an attempt to be a little more inclusive. At level 2, the prize will split 2-2-1, and at level 3, it will be split 5-3-2.

So if you want a chance for Hive SBI, go write a poem (and leave two comments for every poem you post)! If you want a chance for a lot of Hive SBI, go recruit others (and write a poem/leave comments)! Spread the word, upvote and share this post to make it more visible, contact poet buddies on Discord and try to talk them into joining our group.

Just remember the rules:

  1. Comment on two other poems for every one that you post
  2. Make it a good comment (not just "great poem!"). We're not asking you to analyze the poem. If nothing comes to mind, here are two ideas: tell how it made you feel or a line you especially liked.
  3. If you offer criticism, keep it gentle and polite and remember the golden rule of criticism: say at least two positive things for every one thing you criticize.

Anyone caught breaking these rules will not be eligible for the reward.

(note: if anyone wants to donate prizes—random tokens such as POB or BRO, or any other prizes—please contact me)

I'm looking forward to reading everyone's new poem in this next week.

Hey Congrats @temitopemichael!

Thanks very much. Really appreciate 🙏🏻🙂

Thank you all very much. I really appreciate this ❤️🙂👍🏻

Congratulations to @temitopemichael... I don't know why I don't get lucky when it comes to spin wheel. I will keep writing, I know I will become a winner someday...

I will make sure to comment on other people's poem this week...

@dbooster great work...

Thanks very much. And I pray you get lucky as I got too ❤️💪🏻🙂

Amen to your prayers... I will by the grace of the Almighty.. Keep up the good work

💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🙂

The odds are against everyone. It was a 1 in 18 chance, which isn't too good. But y'know, like everything, the more you do it, the more chances you have. Splitting up the reward next week to give 3 people instead of 1 will help.

Just keep up the great work and rewards will come, whether they be a lucky spin here or a big upvote from one of the big accounts who are starting to look in to this community.

I appreciate the great work you are doing here.. The splitting makes it more interesting.. Instead of having the winner take it all, it will now be between the 1st,2nd and 3rd position... Good stuff..

I will keep doing what am doing and even more. I just hope I get noticed..

My first post here didn’t get as much engagement as I’d have hoped,I got one or two good comments then the regular generic ones, almost no upvotes as well, which is something I found is a common denominator with most of the posts on here. I’m down for supporting one another, and I think the two comments for one post is actually a really great rule. I think it’s important for us to engage, (not just because it’s a rule but because it’s important to our growth) it would be a great way to encourage new people to stay, and post more on here.

Another thing I love is the curation and compiling of poems written, it’s something I haven’t seen as much of in other communities (then again I’m relatively new).

Congratulations to @temitopemichael

All will fall in place. Just keep being you... and THANKS TOO, really appreciate 🙏🏻🙂❤️

And I very much thank you for your first post and joining us here @mavido. As our community grows, engagement should increase. You're right, it is a common problem on Hive, but at least for this community, I am hoping we can push past this particular growing pain. Let's all do our part by commenting and encouraging as we have time.

I agree, that’s what a community should be about.

thank you very much for the mention @dbooster from now on I will start commenting on the poems so that the community will grow more and of course many more poems will come from me.

Again thanks for the mention, have a great week.
