How is HiveAuth Working for you on PeakD?

For those who use HiveAuth, you may have noticed PeakD has added HiveAuth as a new login option. The integration is still in the early days, so in order for the team to be assured it's working properly for PeakD users, we need your feedback and we're willing to give you a little crypto for your troubles! If this is for you, please keep reading.

How You Can Help

We need specific feedback, including screenshots and overall experience when you use HiveAuth. And we are more than willing to upvote or tip those who shares their feedback using HiveAuth on PeakD! All we need is your specific feedback in the comments (not just general reactions of "it's good" or "it's not working"). If you use HiveAuth and would like to help, please do the following:

  1. Write a short recap of your experience using HiveAuth in the comments to this post.
(Or link a post that you write)
  2. Share a screenshot as proof you actually tried HiveAuth.
  3. Finally, provide feedback explaining to us the following:
    • Ease of use (was this easy for you or difficult and if so, why?)
    • Does it work as intended? (If not, what went wrong for you?)
    • Improvement ideas (Does the HiveAuth and PeakD's implimentation need improvement? If so, do you have some ideas where this needs to be improved?
    • Would you recommend using HiveAuth on PeakD to others? (Or is it too much of a hassle? If it's a hassle, how can we streamline it for you?)

Why We're Asking

PeakD's mission is to serve the users. We want you to have the best experience, which includes an excellent standard of performance. We have some statistics about HiveAuth; however, this is the backend numbers, and we would really love to hear what you're experiencing on the front end of PeakD. Please give us as much specific information as you possible can, so that we can make the interface and experience as best we can for you.

Also there is an issue on either some cellphones or @keychain mobile side prohibiting a few users from using HiveAuth at all and we're trying to identify how many this impacts and what connects them.

Thank you so much, PeakD users, particularly those who use HiveAuth. We appreciate your time and feedback greatly. If you have other feedback to share with us, we're all ears; please go to our discord PeadD Projects server and share your suggestions.

Thank you for the work that PeakD team does for all of us. I tried HiveAuth yesterday for the first time, and while it was not difficult to use it to sign in, anytime I tried to do anything with my account, it would give me the message in the PeakD web app (on my Android phone), to go authorize it in the Hive Keychain (Android) app. So it always required me to validate any transaction from the Hive Keychain app. I had connected HiveAuth to the Hive Keychain app at the same time I tied using it to sign in to PeakD. This is the reason that I usually use, and went back to, HiveSigner, because it does not require me to go to another app to validate a transaction.

I hope this is useful information. 🙏💚

Thank you for your feedback @tydynrain.

When you approve a transaction on Keychain Mobile, you can "whitelist" the app and operation:

If you toggle on the option before confirming it, Keychain will no more ask you to approve each operation as long as your session is valid. This will save you from switching between apps.

Ahhh! Thank you for that! I'll let you know how it goes.

I find this new way of validating transactions quite interesting. At first it took me a few minutes to understand how the linking process works and in the mobile application the QR scanner icon is somewhat "hidden" but I think it's because of the dark mode I have configured. I have deactivated the dark mode and the qr icon looks better but I would like it to be in a side menu or something like that.

Another thing that confused me at first is that you have two buttons in the login part. After a while testing obviously the one on the left is to synchronize the Hive auth with key chain and the other one is to log in, but this is a bit confusing, it is better not to have so many buttons. Now I understand how it works but for a beginner it can be a bit complicated.

So far everything is working as it should. I use keychain on my computer and it is faster to validate something than to be looking for my cell phone and scanning and then validate, of course, having the facility to carry your keys anywhere with your cell phone is priceless.

I will keep testing this new way of verification and anything else I will be reporting back.

Thanks for your feedback... please keep letting us know how it goes.

Of course I like peakD,very cool, efficient and explanatory most especially the new updated version, and I know there is more to just using it as an interface, which I desire to learn or know more as I don't know how to go about doing the survey work as contained in the post, knowledge is power, I want to be enlightened the more boss, Kudos

Voted as well thanks for the feedback

Mobile app worked fine for me good in Chrome and Microsoft Edge on the browsers

Then I tried Firefox and it doesn't show the HiveAuth logo and Username to enter the field.
Not sure why ?

HiveAuth hasn't been fixed to work on FireFox yet... so we've disabled the UI for it on our side.

Oh ok makes sense. Just thought it was weird. Other than that the app worked seamlessly.

Had a great experience testing on LG V60!

Testing Out HiveAuth - This Is The Way
https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@l337m45732/testing-out-hiveauth-this-is-the-way

Hello, greetings! I was able to log in, however, I have not been able to enter through hiveauth when I put my user and click on accept I get the QR code and when I click on it I get two options to enter keychine and Google Chrome, but with those two does not let me enter, I do not know if I'm doing something wrong. If you can synchronize with keychine, I leave the capture as a sample.

I don't use HiveAuth but I am glad to see PeakD is adding another sign-in method. Anything and everything that makes accessibility easier is good. The more the merrier.

yes did notice that, I haven't tried the way yet but the option is not here anymore must be you are working on it again, thanks for the great platform and regular amazing updates. 😀🙏
