Mercedes-Benz, the prominent German automaker, is gearing up to incorporate OpenAI's virtual aide, ChatGPT, into its vehicular software.

Starting June 16 and extending through September 16, 2023, employees of Mercedes-Benz will orchestrate a trial run of this chatbot. This beta testing phase is open to Mercedes-Benz car owners residing in the United States. Given that the trials culminate in a success, the AI will be integrated into the software across all Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

The integration of ChatGPT will be an enhancement to the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) voice-assisted system, making it possible for car enthusiasts to instruct AI and interact by asking diverse queries. In order to maintain stringent security standards for driver's private data, all transmitted information will be routed to a cloud-based storage system managed by Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz will be facilitating access to ChatGPT via the Microsoft Azure OpenAI service, a platform that enables the utilization of linguistic models developed by OpenAI. This service further permits the personalization of a virtual assistant and empowers the AI to be trained to execute specific tasks.
