Grund ist ein DRM-Feature von neueren Intel CPUs (Intel Software Guard Extensions SGX), das allerdings wegen schweren Sicherheitslücken ab den CPUs der 11. Generation (2022) wieder entfernt wurde.
Dieses Feature ist aber notwendig, um 4K Blu-Rays auf einem PC abspielen zu können.
Das ist wirklich ein Witz, anstatt dass man das DRM-Feature streicht, können 4K Blu-Rays auf neuen PCs einfach nicht mehr abgespielt werden.

Newer PCs (from Intel Core 11000 CPUs) can no longer play 4K UHD Blu-Rays. Are 4K Blu-Rays dead?
The reason is a DRM feature of newer Intel CPUs (Intel Software Guard Extensions SGX), which was removed due to serious security vulnerabilities starting with CPUs of the 11th generation (2022).
However, this feature is necessary to play 4K Blu-Rays on a PC.
This is really a joke, instead of removing the DRM feature, 4K Blu-Rays simply can't be played on new PCs.

Are these blue-rays still available in the market? We don't have them in circulation here at present.
They are still available in shops and on Amazon of course, but not in big numbers any more like they used to some years ago.
Never used it so I won't miss it.

Ich denke es ist ohnehin ein überteuertes Produkt, das schon etwas aus der Zeit gefallen ist.
Stimmt, die Discs fühlen sich irgendwie veraltert, umständlich an, aber die Hollywood-Film-Industrie hat Streaming verschlafen, das Digital-Angebot ist noch schlechter und im Moment kommt Streaming nicht an die 4K Blu-Ray-Qualität heran. Denke aber langfristig, wird sich alles Richtung Streaming entwickeln, wenn die Film-Studios das einmal begreifen.

Sounds like we all will need to buy 4K Blu-Ray players and watch at home. It's something they could easily fix but I'm sure they won't.

sonst dürfen Sie auch nicht rum heulen, wenn die Leute lieber kostenlose 4K MKVs im Netz suchen, bei denen dann nicht mal die Disc gewechselt werden muss...
Mir persönlich ist es egal, mir reicht die Bildqualität von Netflix, Prime und Konsorten
ich brauch auch keine Extended Version, weil die Überlänge die meisten Filme nur in die Länge zieht und mir selten einen Mehrwert liefert
Das ganze DRM schadet im Endeffekt loyalen Kunden, die sich die Scheiben kaufen und nicht p2p downloaden. Mich wundert, dass die Film-Industrie immer noch kein vernünftiges Streaming-Angebot hat und dann die Kunden mit dem blöden DRM so verärgert.
Das DRM ist ja grundsätzlich verständlich, aber es sollte benutzerfreundlich gestaltet werden.
Also auf allen Geräten nutzbar sein.

Wenn die Leute dann wirklich p2p Downloads nutzen, kann die Filmindustrie bzw. die Anwälte auch noch bei illegalen Downloads Geld rausschlagen.
Bei Torrent und co. stellen die Nutzer neben dem gewollten Download auch einen Upload zur Verfügung.
Somit verbreiten Sie illegalen Content (im Gegensatz zu One Click Hostern)
