Path of the Giant Firs - Val Noana - Trentino Alto Adige - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Hello everyone, today my discovery of Val Noana continues, in Trentino Alto Adige.

To reach the valley you have to arrive by car at Imer and from the state road 50 turn right into via Casa Bianca. Then just follow the road signs for the valley.

Ciao a tutti, oggi prosegue la mia scoperta della Val Noana, in Trentino Alto Adige.

Per raggiungere la valle bisogna arrivare con l'auto all'altezza di Imer e dalla strada statale 50 svoltare a destra per via Casa Bianca. Poi basterà seguire le ndicazioni stradali per la valle.

After 15 minutes of narrow, uphill road, made of hairpin bends and tunnels, you will arrive at a very nice area with parking. There is also a forest house and picnic tables, which I took advantage of to have lunch with my parents who decided to join for this exploratory excursion.

Dopo 15 minuti di strada stretta, in salita, fatta di tornanti e gallerie si arriva ad un'area molto carina con parcheggio. Ci sono anche una casa forestale e tavoli per fare pic nic, che ho sfruttato per pranzare con i miei genitori che hanno deciso di unirsi per questa escursione esplorativa.

As I ate, I was surprised by a hiker who was walking into the woods with his cat following him diligently.

Mentre mangiavo, sono rimasto sorpreso da un escursionista che stava passeggiando verso il bosco con il suo gatto che lo seguiva diligentemente.

After lunch we decided to take the excursion of the giant firs.

Finito di pranzare abbiamo deciso di fare l'escursione degli abeti giganti.

The path is immediately very pleasant, not very busy and with gentle slopes.

Il sentiero è subito molto piacevole, poco frequentato e con pendenze dolci.

Do you think that even though we are in high season, I have not met anyone along the path!

Pensate che anche se siamo in alta stagione, non ho incontrato nessuno lungo il sentiero!

I have seen a great variety of butterflies, I wish I had photographed better but I am striving to travel lighter carrying only the smartphone.

There are also very good strawberries that help to hydrate a little.

The path is well marked it is impossible to get lost.

Il sentiero è ben segnalato è impossibile perdersi.

The path is a circular one, you can understand it even without looking at the map because it makes a few curves, only those sufficient to bring you back to the starting point.

Il sentiero è ad anello, lo si capisce anche senza guardare la cartina perchè compie poche curve, solo quelle sufficienti a riportare al punto di partenza.

In this summer period there is also a beautiful flowering.
This is supposed to be an orchid.

In questo periodo estivo c'è anche una bella fioritura.
Questa dovrebbe essere un'orchidea.

This section is a bit uphill, but nothing difficult.

This instead is the explanatory table of a yew tree over 800 years old that is a few meters away.

Here some historical notes on the wood carbonization processes were reported. Woodcutters produced coal that served as fuel for metalworking.

Qui erano riportati alcuni cenni storici sulle lavorazioni di carbonizzazione del legno. I boscaioli producevano carbone che fungeva da combustibile per la lavorazione dei metalli.

While walking I saw some mushrooms but not many due to the drought. The forest was visibly dry.

Mentre camminavo ho visto qualche fungo ma non molti a causa della siccità. Il bosco era visibilmente arido.

At this point you can choose whether to do the long or short tour.
With the long one it takes three hours more so we opted for the short one.

In questo punto si puà scegliere se fare il giro lungo o corto.
Con quello lungo ci si impiega tre ore in più quindi abbiamo optato per quello corto.

The path then entered a downhill driveway.

ITA

Il sentiero si è poi immesso su una strada carrabile in discesa.

After a kilometer we arrived at an old woodcutter's hut.

Dopo un chilometro siamo arrivati ad una vecchia baracca di boscaioli.

The interior was as it was originally.

L'interno era tale e quale a come era in origine.

After a short stretch on the road we took an uphill path that would have led us back to the parking lot where we had the car.

Dopo un breve tratto su strada abbiamo preso un sentiero in salita che ci avrebbe ricondotto al parcheggio dove avevamo l'auto.

Fifteen minutes of walking and we had arrived.
It was a great hike.
Relaxing and not demanding, also ideal for my parents.
