Hello everyone, with today's post I take you to the province of Vicenza where there is a semi-unknown post but with a wonderful landscape.
Last Saturday I decided to go for a walk on the Roigo hill, known mainly for an abandoned villa which they say is haunted by ghosts...since these things don't interest me much, I show you what kind of landscape you can enjoy doing a simple walk in this area.

Lo scorso sabato ho deciso di andare a fare una camminata sul colle Roigo, colle consciuto principalmente per una villa abbandonata che dicono sia infestata dai fantasmi...dato che queste cose non mi interessano molto vi mostro invece di che tipo di paesaggio potete godere facendo una semplice camminata in quest'area.
The first thing that strikes you is the almost total absence of houses, we will find further along the main road, a density of buildings proportionate to the natural landscape.

La prima cosa che colpisce è la quasi totale assenza di case, ne troveremo avanti lungo la strada principale, una densità di edificato proporzionata col paesaggio naturale.
For this walk I started from via Col Roigo which is located between Bassano del Grappa, Romano d'Ezzelino and Mussolente.

Per questa camminata sono partito da via Col Roigo che si trova tra Bassano del Grappa, Romano d'Ezzelino e Mussolente.
You can always walk on the main asphalted road because it is hardly busy at all, you can also walk in the middle of the road!

Si può camminare sempre sulla strada principale asfaltata perchè è quasi per nulla trafficata, si può camminare anche a centro strada!
The beauty of this route is that it is very varied and offers different views.
Looking west you can see cultivated fields with a linear horizon that ends on a belt of trees, to the east there are gentle hills with some vines and pastures, to the north the mountain range of Monte Grappa.

Il bello di questo percorso è che molto vario, offre viste diverse tra loro.
Guardando ad ovest si vedono campi coltivati con un orizzonte lineare che finisce su una cintura di alberi, ad est ci sono dolci colline con alcuni vitigni e pascoli, a nord la catena montuosa del Monte Grappa.
This route is mainly frequented by walkers and cyclists so it is truly a quiet place where you can walk without worries.

The more you go up the road towards the tower, the more you can enjoy a beautiful view that looks like a painting.

Also look at how beautiful the asphalt is, it's perfect, it seems made especially for bikes!

To further embellish the view there were a group of grazing cows...

It was starting to rain but it was nothing serious, so I decided to continue.
I was now near the tower and I was beginning to see the first art installations that are nearby.

Ero ormai vicino alla torre e cominciavo a vedere le prime installazioni artistiche che ci sono lì vicino.
The tower is on the top of Col Bastia and right along this last stretch there are the sculptures dedicated to some Dante steps of the divine comedy.

La torre è sulla cima del Col Bastia e proprio lungo questo ultimo tratto ci sono le sculture dedicate ad aluni passi Danteschi della divina commedia.
To command a large part of this region (Veneto) during the medieval period was a tyrant known by the name of Ezzelino da Romano. An unscrupulous man, coming from Onara, who by force obtained the dominion of almost the entire Venetian territory.
Dante met Ezzelino's sister, a certain Cunizza da Romano and probably struck by her kind ways, he inserted her in a passage from the Divine Comedy.

A comandare buona parte di questa regione (Veneto) durante il periodo medievale fu un tiranno conosciuto con il nome di Ezzelino da Romano. Un uomo senza scrupoli, proveniente da Onara, che con la forza ottenne il dominio di quasi tutto il territorio veneto.
Dante conobbe la sorella di Ezzelino, tale Cunizza da Romano e probabilmente colpito dai suoi modi gentili, la inserì in un passo della Divina Commedia.
Going up the last stretch of the road you come to a beautiful view where there is also a bench, it is impossible not to sit down to contemplate the landscape!

Salendo l'ultimo tratto di strada si arriva ad una bellissima veduta dove c'è anche una panchina, impossibile non sedersi per contemplare il paesaggio!
A few meters away is the monument to Dante Alighieri where the verses dedicated to this place are reported:
“In quella parte della terra prava Italica,
Che siede intra Rialto e le fontane di Brenta e Piava
Si leva un Colle e non s’urge molt’alto,
là dove scese già una facella
che fece alla contrada molto un grande assalto”.

A pochi metri c'è il monumento a Dante Alighieri dove sono riportati i versi dedicati a questo posto:

Then here is the tower that was erected in 1827, designed by Giovanni Zardo, descendant of the Canova, famous sculptors, famous all over the world.

Ecco poi la torre che venne eretta nel 1827, progettata da Giovanni Zardo, discendente dei Canova, famosi scultori, celebri in tutto il mondo.
Before going back I stopped for a few minutes at the bench, it doesn't often happen to have such magical weather conditions, the sky and the clouds looked like a painting!

Prima di tornare indietro mi sono fermato qualche minuto alla panchina, non capita spesso di avere delle condizioni meteo così magiche, il cielo e le nuvole sembravano un dipinto!

Hi Eve! You can say it loudly, that day the sky was spectacular, there was a storm nearby and the sky was something sublime. Maybe I should have waited for sunset to see the maximum expression!
Nature, with the intermittent rains of these days, is super luxuriant and vividly green.
Sunshine from one side and dark stormy clouds on another part of the sky is the absolute best for landscape photography in my opinion. Makes everything super vibrant.
I agree with you, it doesn't happen often and for this reason it's even more special.
