Auch dieses Jahr war ich wieder beim Oktoberfest, wie jedes Jahr seit 2014. Dieses Mal war ich zweimal dort, einmal mit ein paar Freunden und einmal geschäftlich. Dabei sind einige sehr gute Kollaborationen entstanden.

The Marstall is the first tent you come to when you enter the Wiesn grounds from the Theresienwiese subway station on the right. This is where you have the best chance of meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger, because he likes to come here and sometimes conducts the band when he's not carrying a few beers to the table. It's a very cozy tent, which I also like to visit myself.

Der Marstall ist das erste Zelt, das man erreicht, wenn man auf dem Wiesn-Gelände von der U-Bahn-Station Theresienwiese rechts reinkommt. Hier hat man die größten Chancen, Arnold Schwarzenegger zu treffen, denn er kommt gerne hierher und dirigiert manchmal die Band, wenn er nicht ein paar Maß zum Tisch trägt. Es ist ein sehr gemütliches Zelt, in das ich auch gerne persönlich gehe.

On the left side, there is “Fischer Vroni” where you can enjoy grilled fish on a stick. I don't go there very often. If I remember correctly, I've only been inside the tent three times in the last 10 years. However, it is a well-known place for smoked fish, and every other Monday is LGBTQ Day.
Auf der linken Seite gibt es den „Fischer Vroni”, wo man Steckerlfische genießen kann. Hier gehe ich nicht so oft hin. Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, war ich in den letzten 10 Jahren nur drei Mal drinnen im Zelt. Es ist aber eine bekannte Adresse für geräucherten Fisch und jeden zweiten Montag findet der LGTBQ Tag statt.
Not far from the Marstallzelt is the Armbrustschützenzelt. It is one of the oldest tents on the grounds. It was opened in 1895. I go there often because the atmosphere is good and it is more of a traditional tent.
Nicht weit vom Marstallzelt entfernt liegt das Armbrustschützenzelt. Es ist eines der ältesten Zelte auf dem Gelände. Es wurde 1895 eröffnet. Ich gehe öfter hierhin, denn die Stimmung ist gut und es ist eher ein traditionelles Zelt.
Some tents offer beer on tap. It is transported from the brewery in the traditional way, using horses. It's nice to see the decorated beer carts. I like these powerful horses. They are very beautiful and noble animals.
In einigen Zelten wird Bier aus dem Fass angeboten. Es wird auf traditionelle Weise mit Pferden von der Brauerei transportiert. Es ist schön, den geschmückten Bierwagen zu sehen. Ich mag diese kraftvollen Pferde. Das sind sehr schöne und edle Tiere.
We rented two tables with friends in the Hofbräu tent. It is the largest tent, operated by the Free State of Bavaria, and is located in the center of Oktoberfest. A state-run tent that is also highly profitable. The state should be run like this tent: with joy, a good atmosphere, and a good profit at the end. The beer is good and everyone wants to celebrate, which makes for a great time. We were there at 3:30 p.m. and didn't notice that it was suddenly 10:30 p.m. because we had to leave the tent.

Wir haben mit Freunden zwei Tische im Hofbräu-Zelt angemietet. Es ist das größte Zelt, wird vom Freistaat Bayern betrieben und steht im Zentrum des Oktoberfests. Ein staatlich geführtes Zelt, das auch höchst profitabel ist. Man sollte den Staat führen wie dieses Zelt: mit Freude, guter Stimmung und gutem Gewinn am Ende. Das Bier ist gut und alle wollen feiern, was für eine gute Zeit sorgt. Wir waren um 15:30 Uhr dort und haben nicht gemerkt, dass es plötzlich 22:30 Uhr war, denn da mussten wir das Zelt verlassen.
Im Hofbräu-Zelt kann man den Engel Aloisius, der über den Himmel Bayerns wacht, sehr gut beobachten.

The character of the angel Aloisius is based on the beautiful short story “Ein Münchner im Himmel” (A Munich Man in Heaven) by the Bavarian writer Ludwig Thoma from 1911. The story is about Alois Hingerl, a porter with the number 172 and a loyal regular at the Hofbräuhaus. One day, he suffered a stroke and died. He went to heaven, where he became known as “Angel Aloisius.” He was given a harp and a cloud on which he was to “rejoice” and “sing hosanna.” However, because he missed beer and snuff, the Munich native in heaven became increasingly grumpy and grumbled to himself. God then sent him back to earth with a special mission: he was to deliver a letter with divine advice to the Bavarian government. Alois was very happy about this assignment. He took the envelope with the divine advice and flew straight to Earth. As usual, he first went to the Hofbräuhaus and ordered one beer after another. However, he forgot his actual mission and has been sitting there to this day. And the Bavarian government is still waiting for the divine advice.

Die Figur des Engels Aloisius geht auf die schöne Kurzgeschichte „Ein Münchner im Himmel“ des bayerischen Schriftstellers Ludwig Thoma aus dem Jahr 1911 zurück. Die Geschichte handelt von Alois Hingerl, einem Dienstmann mit der Nummer 172 und treuen Stammgast im Hofbräuhaus. Eines Tages wurde er vom Schlag getroffen und starb. Er kam in den Himmel, wo er fortan als „Engel Aloisius“ bekannt war. Er bekam eine Harfe und eine Wolke zugeteilt, auf der er „frohlocken“ und „Hosianna singen“ sollte. Da ihm jedoch Bier und Schnupftabak fehlten, wurde der Münchner im Himmel immer grantiger und schimpfte vor sich hin. Daraufhin schickte Gott ihn mit einem Spezialauftrag zurück zur Erde: Er sollte der bayerischen Regierung einen Brief mit göttlichen Ratschlägen übermitteln. Alois war sehr froh über diesen Auftrag. Er nahm den Umschlag mit dem göttlichen Ratschlag mit und flog schnurstracks zur Erde. Wie gewohnt ging er zuerst ins Hofbräuhaus und bestellte sich ein Bier nach dem anderen. Seinen eigentlichen Auftrag hatte er dabei jedoch vergessen und sitzt dort bis zum heutigen Tag. Und die bayerische Regierung wartet noch immer auf die göttlichen Ratschläge.
Und zum Schluss noch etwas, ich habe das Oktoberfest dieses Jahr wirklich gut genossen. Es war locker, die Stimmung war gut und ich habe einfach eine schöne Zeit gehabt. Wart ihr schon einmal auf dem Oktoberfest?

Oh I missed this event! I was in Germany but I only attended the Oktoberfest in Lindau

7 Jahre lang in Deutschland gewohnt, nicht einmal beim Oktoberfest gewesen. Irgendwie gab es keine Gelegenheit dazu 😞
Stattdessen war ich öfters zum Fasching feiern! Das war echt der Hammer! 😀
Fasching ist auch sehr gut, aber nicht so stark in München wie in NRW. Ja, muss dieses Februar mal nach Köln fahren.
Ich habe in Mainz gewohnt, da war schon ganz viel was los....
