Never define something even though you don't know the true meaning just from the cover.
Starting from a short, busy trip, exploring the city of Singapore by bus, walking and enjoying the cool air in the morning. Singapore is the most modern city in Southeast Asia, with all traffic order, comfortable and safe public transportation. I enjoyed it for two days because as you know the city where I live doesn't have it.
The hustle and bustle of this city really amazes me, one of which is the public transportation they have. In fact, riding the bus during rush hour and on time has become a reality for the people of Singapore. There is a funny story, this story took me to Chijmes which is an interesting icon in Singapore.
So, I don't have a card which is usually used to use public transportation here. Because they said they could accept payments using cardless visa or mastercard, so I used it because I was too lazy to buy another card and it was a little overwhelming for me. However, it turned out that the cardless I was using couldn't be used, but I found out when I was finally in Singapore.
Because of that, I was hesitant and got off at one of the stops on Victoria Street and found a very beautiful church. At first I didn't know anything about this place, it wasn't even a tourist destination that I wrote in my itinerary. I went in and took photos to make a memory of this place. However, I just realized that this place is not a church, but a school and it has been turned into an icon in the city of Singapore. At night, this place becomes a culinary and nightlife area.
I don't know what kind of nightlife is offered at Chijmes, but, this morning I could see it was very beautiful. What's Chijmes Singapore like? Come with me to find out a little about this city icon.
Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus Middle Education School which is shortened to 'CHIJMES'. Anyone who gets here will think this is a very beautiful, large and unique cathedral or church. But, what you should know is that this has been transformed into a place that has other values, which is expected to attract the city to gain many benefits as a culinary and nightlife venue.
Chijmes has a very sturdy building even though it is old, because it has been around since 1841. This building has its own interest, from its very luxurious and beautiful architectural details. Some of my friends even said that I was in Europe right now when I posted it on social media. I think, if you are in Singapore, there's no harm in coming here even in the morning to see and feel the vibes of a cathedral in a modern city.
The beauty of Chijmes is enhanced by the sunlight and the vast clouds covering it from above, so it appears from a picture that this place has something unusual. The pillars in the building, the typical ornamentation of a cathedral and the unified colors are valuable things. Unfortunately, I was only in Singapore until this afternoon, so I couldn't enjoy this city's iconic nightlife.
Seeing that there are many interesting cafes that haven't opened yet this morning. Very unique, there is a cafe that is covered with plastic and looks like air bubbles. Inside there are sofas and tables that guests can use to enjoy the Singapore air.
Even though it is in the middle of the city, there are many shady trees in the Chijmes complex. In fact, almost all the corners with trees seem to be old and very well cared for by the owner, although there are several electrical cables and lights hanging from all the trees to beautify this place at night with colored lights.
One of my favorite things when I was here was the corner of the Chijmes building which was really beautiful, charming like being in the old city. Old is gold is the right slogan for this place. The spacious place with a large courtyard also makes this place the right place to have fun. There is no entry fee to enter the Chijmes complex. So, it could be the right choice to find hidden gems for photography lovers.
