Pasar Ngasem – Yogyakarta

YOGYAKARTA (1).jpg

What do you think is interesting when you travel? There are many lists, the first is usually visiting places that are landmarks. Second, usually eating at the most must-visit places that are characteristic of the place, and the third is blending in with the local community, usually this is an interesting experience to get a point of view.

But what if the second and third reasons can be combined into a fun experience? In my opinion, it is a must-try for all places. Go to a traditional market or night market, then try the food at the traditional market. Quite interesting, right?

Not only is it quite interesting but it will be very fun for you to be able to know the conditions and habits of the people in other areas that might turn your curiosity into knowledge. It's simple, it will be much more interesting than just playing on rides or hits places. In fact, I think this will be very unforgettable.

One thing I will always try when I want to travel, come to places like this. This is one of the busiest places in the city of Yogyakarta, where so many people enjoy their morning with breakfast even though it's crowded. Called 'Pasar Ngasem' which is located right next to the palace of the Yogyakarta palace. In fact, it is said that this is still in the palace but on the outside. Really, this place is very crowded with many local residents and tourists.

Pasar Ngasem is a shopping center that must be visited, because almost everyone sells here. Starting from light breakfast (such as traditional snacks), to heavy meals (such as rice with side dishes). The area of this market is not too big but all corners are utilized well by traders, all of whom are local people in the city of Yogyakarta.

It is a guide recommendation, because there are several markets that are similar to this but Pasar Ngasem is the largest for selling snacks. Almost all traders are also women with cooking skills.

Here, many sell traditional foods, oh of course all of them are traditional foods. Complete with side dishes and snacks that are appetizing. I think almost all of them are very delicious and authentic with a 'Yogya' taste. The requirement to get a place to eat is that you have to come early because you have to fight with other people. Seriously. It's so crowded that I almost got short of breath with this crowd.

I highlight here that all the food is authentic and traditional Yogyakarta specialties, it can be seen that almost all traders who sell ready to go food also use traditional tools. Some of them also use wood stoves with charcoal, and even use clay as a place to boil or cook food.

What I like is that this place is a warm place for traders and buyers. It can be seen from how they prepare food and interact with each other which makes this atmosphere missed. I don't even have something like this where I live, even though because it is still in the same country, habits like this should be formed. But in fact there is none at all.

It is true what people say, Yogyakarta is always missed.

See you the next time hive friends!

Yes, we have three types and a few things in our travel experience. But of course, we like to see food and its heritage more. The picture in the market looks great, besides the many types of food that are seen here. But one thing is that the most state food is seen here, which we can actually see when we go to the market. For me, I like jhal muri the most in my country, which one do you like?

Definitely that is what you are looking for in a trip and that is to have a fun experience, the gastronomic experience in this place must be great there is so much variety of food.

Of course you managed to capture these beautiful moments very well ♥️🙏
