Just two streets away from one of the most beautiful and significant churches in the city, the Church of San Pablo, in a block that has a triangle shape there is a building that, although small, has significance for the locals.
The whole of Spain is predominantly Catholic and therefore there are countless churches, parishes, basilicas and various temples, as well as countless brotherhoods and sisterhoods, and the city of Malaga is no exception.
It is located in Trinidad street and I was struck by the shape of the block where this building is built, it has the shape of a triangle as I said before, I don't know if it is a coincidence, although I don't believe that these do exist.
Although Malaga has innumerable figures with different names of Jesus, I think that the veneration of Jesus the Captive is one of the biggest and most impressive that the city has.
His image has his hands tied at the front with a rope and during the Easter season there are many processions with this image, with many people congregating for this reason.
Walking through this neighbourhood I came across this narrow street and at the end of it we can see the Brotherhood corresponding to El Cautivo.
Although this brotherhood was founded in 1934, the construction of this building took about four years from the beginning of the project and was completed in 1983.
For the people who live in this neighbourhood it is something iconic and very important, not only for them but for the whole city of Malaga.
The huge thrones of Jesús Cautivo and the throne of María Santísima de la Trinidad Coronada are kept there.
The confraternity opens its doors on special days, especially at Easter time, so at this time only the external façade can be seen.
In front of this building there is a small square, where the local children can play. A very simple place, but very much loved by everyone there.
On the other hand, at the back of this building and situated in Avenida Bailén, there is a museum with everything related to this brotherhood.
The museum is called Cautivo y Trinidad, and for the month of August it is closed for holidays, but it has a very cheap entrance fee and for groups it only costs 1 euro per person.
It has a shop whose days and hours are displayed on a sign on the front of the museum, and also a music room, as the band of Jesús Cautivo practices here.
I have witnessed this band some time ago and it is really amazing, beyond the religious characteristic.
Moreover, this place is an emblematic point and shown as a tourist spot in the city, it is considered of real importance.
You can see the devotion of the people who live in this neighbourhood, especially on the balconies of the flats. Walking around I could see many decorations alluding to the Virgin and the Captive.
This building is built in such a way that its triangular location faces the Church of San Pablo, located on the same street.
And walking back on my tour I could see that great and majestic tower so characteristic of this place and which I have previously reviewed here.
A very beautiful tower that can be seen in the distance and that the sun illuminates it until it disappears into the horizon.
The streets of Malaga always have hidden treasures and this one, although simple, seemed to me worthy of being visited and brought here.
Thank you all very much, best regards and see you next time.

Such a beautiful and tidy place. I actually bought some of these types of planters when I was in Malaga.
Many streets are decorated in this way... you've given me an idea! Thank you!
It is surprising that the sorority building took some 50 years to complete 😁. All kidding aside, I really enjoyed the photos and your comments. And that tower.... It is spectacular.
Thanks for the ride @avdesing.
The truth.... from the idea to the realisation what a barabarity of years hahaha
Thank you very much! A short tour but I really enjoyed walking through these hidden streets!
Se nota que te gusta pasear, y a los demás que nos lleves de paseo.

It is a very quiet place except when there are festivities when people are very happy and go out in the streets. Thank you very much! I love to wander the streets in search of novelties!😀
And I like that you share them with us, just as I also love your photos 😊
Thank you!!!💗💗💗
Good afternoon dear friend @avdesing
You live in a city full of architectural treasures, it is very evident that the city is mostly Catholic due to the large presence of sites dedicated to the Catholic cult.
Beautiful photographs, the architecture of the buildings is really beautiful.
Have a lovely afternoon
You have no idea how far I still have to go, let alone the outlying areas. Thank you very much always!!!💗💗💗💗
The entrance to the museum is inexpensive and the image of the Holy Trinity on the front is very beautiful.
There is no individual ticket but I don't think it will be very expensive. The place is really beautiful. Thank you Monica!😃
