CEBU DAY 1: The city tour

in Worldmappin2 months ago

Helloooo I am back on ecency and I am in paiiinnnnn
I actually have been traveling around in the past few days and today is my only rest day after so many travels. So this is the only time I get to write about my adventure.
So on Wednesday, Sept 25 I flew to Cebu city and we both have barely had any sleep XD

This is on boarding at 9am and I kept getting left behind because I didn't like getting in between people. It was just crazy XD

We got to Cebu at around 11am and I do think the flight ot delayed, but that's to be expected from Cebu pacific. This airline always has delays and I've never had a flight that ever arrived on time, and it's why it's one of the cheapest airlines in the Philippines.

Moving on, we dropped our stuff off at the accomodation, got lunch then we went back to take a really long nap. By the time we were up, it was already evening and we tried to figure out how to get to the mall so we could get some stuff and also so we knew how to travel for the next day for the paid tour we availed of.

Fast forward to the tour ^^ Our first stop was at Sirao garden which they tried turning into little Amsterdam

This was a really pretty garden, one of the prettiest I've seen in a long time since I don't go to gardens much now. So each stop, we only have 30 minutes time allotment so we could maximize all the good locations around the island XD

Then we went to the Temple of Leah which was an heirloom from a known family here in the Philippines. This temple was built as a sign of love for Leah Adarna which is quite impressive at that time. The statues and the shiny surfaces were made of bronze and given the year that this temple was built, bronze was almost at the same level of cost as gold so you can see how precious the husband held his wife in. How much he loved her and how much he spent the rest of his life honoring his wife. Ugh if only I could find a man like this ;;-;; my boyfriend might do this for me, but who knows XD

The next stop was actually for lunch because it was noon by the time we finished touring.

So when in cebu, it's expected that you enjoy lechon cebu ^^ And that is exactly what we got when we arrived at Car-car cebu since they are the Hotspot of the best lechon cebu. We also got danggit rice and gambas. Dried fish is also a big thing here since cebu is known as a Hotspot for dried fishes and dried fruits.
The food was definitely good but the service took too long which shows just how popular the shop was.

Next stop was the taoist temple where we tried making wishes, but given my attire, we weren't allowed in some temples because of how sacred the area is.

I couldn't take that many photos here because that had strict restrictions and some of the monks there would tell us off, so that was the best I could do for now.

Next stop was the heritage house but I did not want to leave the car then because of the number of street vendors there that just crowd around tourists. Those actions scare me ;;-;;

Then we went to Magellan's cross and I wanted to go into the church to make a wish but the security was too strict with the tire and I guess it was my mistake that I wore shorts, but I wanted to be comfy while I was going around the city, given how hot and humid it is in cebu, much more than manila, actually ;;-;; and the climate here was really dizzying, especially since I'm used to being in temperature controlled areas now.

This place disappointed me becaI really thought it was a rose field, all the same, it was quite pretty and there was a cute souvenir shop where we got some yummy juices and biscuits that we ate on the drive back to the drop off place ^w^
All in all, it was a good day, I didn't buy souvenirs yet because I knew I would still find something somewhere and that we still had a few days to go.
I'm kind of sad I couldn't finish my Sketchtember because of this trip but I have one more Sketchtember drawing then I will fully focus on Zingtober/Inktober for the next month.

Stay tuned for day 2 which I will likely post tomorrow once I've collected enough photos XD
