Hello all hive friends, who will reach this post. hope you all are well. And would be enjoying life. Friends, last weekend I went to visit on my friend's birthday, which is a very lovely place, where there is a lovely temple of Mata which is very lovely
Dunagiri Temple is located at a distance of 14 kilometers from the Dwarahat area of Almora district of Uttarakhand state, this temple is situated on the top of Drona mountain. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is believed that when Hanuman ji was carrying Sanjivani booti for Laxman, a piece of it fell here and from that day this place is known as 'Dunagiri' ('giri' means to fall).
Maa Dunagiri Temple is also known as 'Dronagiri'. This temple was named Dronagiri due to the penance done by Pandavas' guru Dronacharya on this mountain. This temple is one of the most ancient and proven Shakti Peeth temples of Uttarakhand.
This temple of Maa Dunagiri is the second Vaishno Shaktipeeth in Kumaon, Uttarakhand after Vaishno Devi. There is no idol in the Dunagiri temple. Naturally formed Siddha Pindas are worshipped as Mata Bhagwati. Akhand Jyoti in Dunagiri temple is a special feature of the temple.
Due to the Vaishnavi form of Dunagiri Mata, no sacrifice of any kind is performed at this place. Even the coconut offered in the temple is not broken in the temple premises.
Dunagiri temple is situated on the top of the mountain. This temple is located at an altitude of 8,000 feet above sea level. There are about 365 steps to reach the temple. The stairs are covered and thousands of bells are hanging on the way, which are almost identical.
Dunagiri Temple Uttarakhand is covered with black granite stones and has a small temple in its sanctum sanctorum. Wide corridors and stairs have been built at all levels so that people of all classes can easily climb up to the temple. It is surrounded by lush and dense forests of cedar and pine. The cool breeze and the spectacular view of the mighty Himalayas make the mind very calm. The Dunagiri temple is maintained by the 'Adi Shakti Maa Dunagiri Mandir Trust'. The trust organizes a daily Bhandara at the Dunagiri temple. The entire range of the Himalayan mountains can be seen from the Dunagiri temple.
It is said that during the Ramayana war in the Treta Yuga, Lakshman was injured by Meghnath's attack, then Sushma Vedya asked Hanuman ji to bring Sanjivani booti from a mountain called Dronachal. Hanuman ji was carrying the entire Dronachal mountain and a small piece of the mountain fell on him and after that the temple of Dunagiri was built at this place. Since that time, many types of herbs are found here even today.
It is also believed about the Dunagiri temple that any woman who worships by lighting an unbroken lamp here to get a child, Goddess Vaishnavi grants her the happiness of having a child.
There is also a belief about the Dunagiri temple that the person who comes to the court of this great power with pure intellect and true heart and asks for a wish, his wish is definitely fulfilled. On the fulfillment of the wish, the devotees offer gold and silver umbrellas, bells, conches etc. in the temple. The best time to visit here is March-June and September-October. The summer season lasts from April to June. The winter season lasts from September to February.
