First sunset in Reñaca, Chile, summer 2023

Hello my dear friends of the Pinmapple community! It's a pleasure to bring you a little bit of Chile over here.

I took these pictures the first day we arrived. By chance we went for a drink at a very particular bar, in fact, one of the most peculiar I have seen in the last time.

The bar had images of famous people, both actors and singers, painted by some artist, and the decorations that were there responded to different styles, from modern, to vintage, bordering a bit on bizarro (this in the everyday use of the language in Argentina, means something strange, that does not combine too much with anything). But all in all, at least for my taste, it offered an interesting spectacle for a bar.

I made the trip with my parents, and they were really looking for a coffee shop, not knowing that the three of us would end up fascinated with the vibe of this place.

So Reñaca, the city in Chile where I am, ended up offering us a unique sunset, through a small window overlooking the sea.

From there we watched the sun go down, little by little, in this afternoon of a young and hot January.

In the pictures you will see the decoration of this place and also this sun that was disappearing in front of our eyes, while we spied it behind a conch shell.

One of the things that caught my attention the most were the masks hanging made up with the flags of the countries. Also, there were mannequins dressed up as aborigines, which I thought was hilarious. With this, the weirdness of the place is evident in the pictures.

My parents and I ended up having some coffee and tea, because the truth is that although January is a very hot summer month, in this case at dusk, we were invaded by a very cold wind, or well, at least that's how we felt coming from Mendoza, where the temperature is reaching 35 degrees Celsius daily.

Suddenly dropping 15 degrees was quite a shock, but nothing that can't be solved with something warm to drink.

The beach at that time also looked beautiful, and we were able to enjoy it on our way to this place.

Something interesting to know about this area of the coast is that it is located in what is known as Sector 1 of the beach of Reñaca. There are a total of 5 sectors, making this small town a rather small space if you want to compare it with other coastal cities.

However, it ends up being the favorite vacation spot for many Argentines, especially Mendocinos.

The Sector 1 has always been more associated to families because of its calmness, while as you get closer to Sector 5 there are more young people and another dynamism. I am referring to the sandy area. For example in sector 5 it is normal to hear music while in 1 there is more silence.

Also in front of the sea in 5 there are bars or surf houses, while towards 1 there are already more restaurants or places to buy take-out food.

I have always liked more the Sector 5, because I came here when I was much younger, so I was looking for my peers. In this case and in particular in this sunset, I quite enjoyed the subtlety of the First Sector, as there was no loud music, the beach was almost empty and my parents could also enjoy this calm offered by this place.

I hope you liked the post folks! As always it's a pleasure to stop by!

This is a fantastic set of photographs, I felt as if I could hear the musicians through your pictures! I also really enjoyed the shots under the archway, they have a magical feeling to them with the hanging foliage. The history of the dog Balto goes to show that heroes come in all shapes and sizes! What a charming place, I love that everyone liked it and that they will enjoy the place as a family.
I also like the beach, but those that are quiet, that allow you to enjoy and disconnect from everything.
