Hello adventurous friends! We continue through the city of Maracaibo in the western tip of Venezuela, so far my experience has been incredible and I visited quite emblematic and beautiful places. You are probably following my post to see if you visit the country on your next vacation. With my previous post I showed you that It's too safe, the food is cheap! Today we are going to visit the central town visiting the famous "La Chinita" Church, let's get started!🍍🧭
Hola amigos aventureros! continuamos por la ciudad de Maracaibo en la punta occidental de Venezuela, hasta ahora mi experiencia a sido increible e visitado sitios bastante emblematicos y hermosos seguramente estas siguiendo mis post para ver si en tus proximas vacaciones visitas el pais, con mi post anterior te demostre que es demasiado seguro, la comida es economica! hoy vamos a visitar el casco central visitando la famosa Iglesia "la chinita", comencemos!🏙🚩
Maracaibo is not exactly a tourist city and I even dare to say that it is one of the least touristy in Venezuela and this is due to the oil in the state where one of the largest oil reserves in the country is located, however it has many places that you can visit, the first point to touch on is the culture, the Marabino "person born in Maracaibo" is different from the rest of the country, they are very friendly, fun and happy, always willing to help you and have a language that is impossible to decipher hahaha, for example "vergatario "It's a way they refer to something very good and they have many words that conjugate with the word "verga" xD. 🍍🌏😎
Maracaibo no es una ciudad propiamente turistica y hasta me atrevo a decir que es una de las menos turisticas de Venezuela y esto se debe al petroleo en el estado se encuentra una de las reservas de petroleo mas grande del pais, sin embargo tiene muchos lugares que puedes visitar, el primer punto a tocar es la cultura el Marabino "persona nascida en Maracaibo" es diferente al resto del pais, son muy amables divertidos y alegres, siempre dispuestos a ayudarte y tienen un lenguaje imposible de descifrar jajaja, por ejemplo "vergatario" es una forma ellos referirse a algo muy bueno y tienen muchas palabras que conjugan con la palabra "verga" xD.🏦🧭
My God! If you like hot summers in Maracaibo it is always summer, as you can see I took a photo of a thermometer and it read more than 46 degrees IN THE SHADOW" imagine in the sun... I think there have already been records of temperatures here of almost 60 degrees, and the environment is a reflection of that, it seems like an abandoned and arid place but not all plants can withstand that temperature that's why we see many xerophytic trees! Normally everyone has air conditioning in their houses and cars, everyone tries not to go out in the Half a day! For me, since time is short, I took advantage of every minute here!🍍🚩🏙
Mi Dios! si te gustan los veranos calurosos en Maracaibo siempre es verano, como puedes ver tire una foto a un termometro y marco mas de 46 grados EN LA SOMBRA" imagina en el sol... Creo que ya han habido registros de temperaturas aqui de casi 60 grados, y el ambiente es reflejo de eso, parece un sitio abandonado y arido pero no todas las plantas pueden soportar esa temperatura por eso vemos muchos arboles xerofiticos! normalmente todos tienen aire acondicionado en sus casas y carros, todos tratan de no salir en el medio dia! para mi como el tiempo es corto aproveche cada minuto aqui!🌄🌍🌷

Mi primera parada para el casco central de Maracaibo es fotografiar esta plaza llamada "Indio Mara" y que es importante para la cultura de la ciudad porque es como una "leyenda" que durante años muchos expertos han tratado de desmentir o afirmar, se trata de un persona que data de la era de los descubrimientos 1500 y que hizo grandes hazañas e inclusive participar en batallas contra los Españoles! segun lei muchos creen que no existio el cacique que era un aborigen de la tribu: "Añú"🍍🚙
We all know that in the era of Columbus the Spanish came to the country to subjugate and exercise power over the aborigines who lived here for hundreds of years. In Maracaibo there were or still exist many Indian tribes, some of them characteristic of living in houses built in the water. and others dedicated themselves to agriculture! These tribes together with the Spanish slaves fought against slavery and obtained freedom! all thanks to Bolivar!🌏😎🧭
Todos sabemos que en la era de Colon los Españoles llegaron al pais para someter y ejercer poder sobre los aborigenes que aqui habitaron por cientos de años, en Maracaibo habian o aun existen muchas tribus indias algunas de ellas caracteristicas de habitar en casas construidas en el agua y otros se dedicaron a la agricultura! estas tribus junto a los esclavos Españoles lucharon contra la esclavitud y obtener la libertad! todo gracias a Bolivar!👨🏫🙎♂️🤴
You cannot visit Maracaibo and not pass through the Plaza de la República where we see that obelisk. By the way, my friend told me that the obelisk has a copper tip that weighs tons and is to withstand the lightning of tropical storms. The plaza was Inaugurated in 1945 when General Rafael Urdaneta celebrated the centenary of his death, the square was made in tribute to him to remember that he was one of those who allowed the country's freedom! I saw it was somewhat neglected but I saw that the governor was planting and cleaning to make the square beautiful!🧭🌍
No puedes visitar Maracaibo y no pasar por la Plaza de la republica donde vemos aquel obelisco, por cierto mi amigo me comentaba que el obelisco tiene una punta de cobre que pesa toneladas y que es para soportar los rayos de las tormentas tropicales, la plaza fue inaugurada en 1945 cuando el General Rafael Urdaneta cumplio un centenar de año de su fallecimiento la plaza se hizo en homenaje a el para recordar que fue uno de los que permitieron la libertad del pais! vi estaba algo descuidada pero vi que el gobernador estaba sembrando y limpiando para dejar la plaza bonita!🏦🏙⛲🌻🌾
The center of Maracaibo🧭🌍/El centro de Maracaibo🚩
This is the Plaza del Rosario de Nuestra Señora de La Chiquinquirá which is a symbol of the culture of Maracaibo because the story goes that a lady who lived in a house here where the monument of that Catholic figure is found a wooden board with an image of Mary the mother Jesus, upon seeing the great resemblance the lady ran all over the road shouting that it was a miracle! In homage to that event, this square and the monument of "La Virgen de la Chinita" were built. The water fountain was not working but everything was clean and cared for!👶🧓
esta es la Plaza del Rosario de Nuestra Señora de La Chiquinquirá la cual es simbolo de cultura de maracaibo porque reza la historia que una señora que vivia en una casa aqui donde esta el monumento de esa figura catolica se encontro una tabla de madera con una imagen de Maria la madre Jesus, al ver el gran parecido la señora corrio por todo el camino gritando que era un milagro! en homenaje a ese suceso se construyo esta plaza y el monumento de "la virgen de la chinita", no estaba funcionando la fuente de agua pero estaba todo limpio y cuidado!✍🌍
haha ufff! We were all hiding among the trees. I really underestimated how hot it is in the center and here it feels worse because the ground reflects the heat and you have a higher thermal sensation! If you come, always bring water with you, it didn't make much of an impression on us because the summer in Portugal is similar to the heat here! I would say that more than 70% of the Marabina population are Catholics so when the day of the "virgin chiquinquira" is celebrated it fills up and all of Venezuela comes here!🧭🙎♂️🚩
haha ufff! estabamos todos escondidos entre los arboles de verdad subestime el calor que hace en el centro y aqui se siente peor porque el suelo rebota el calor y tienes una sensacion termica mas alta! si llegas a venir trae siempre agua contigo, a nosotros no nos causo mucha impresion porque el verano de Portugal es parecido al calor de aqui! diria que mas del 70% de la poblacion Marabina son catolicos asi que cuando se celebra el dia de la "virgen chiquinquira" esto se llena y toda Venezuela viene aqui!🤯🚌🚙
St. Barbara Church🧭🌍/Iglesia Santa Barbara🚩
This is another of the most important churches in the city, it is called Santa Barbara, as you can see it has that colonial touch, it was built in the mid-18th century, it has that Neo-Gothic and Neoclassical style, it is currently open but only at night, it was under renovation so I couldn't get in but if you come to Maracaibo you can't miss it!🚩🧭
Esta es otra de las iglesias mas importante de la ciudad se llama Santa Barbara, como puedes ver tiene ese toque colonial fue construida a mediados del siglo XVIII, tiene ese estilo Neogotico y Neoclasico actualmente se encuentra abierta pero solo en las noches, estaba en remodelacion asi que no pude entrar pero si vienes a Maracaibo no puedes perdertelo!⛲🏦

As you can see in almost all the cities of Venezuela, a tribute to the great Bolivar who was the liberator of not only Venezuela and other countries in South America cannot be missing, which is why even in countries like Colombia we get these places!👨🏫🤴
Como puedes ver en casi todas las ciudades de Venezuela no puede faltar un homenaje al gran Bolivar quien fue el libertador de no solo Venezuela otros paises de Sur America por eso hasta en paises como Colombia conseguimos estas plazas!🍍🚙

In the center of Maracaibo there is a part called "el saladillo" which we find the old houses where people lived in the 18th century, many of them preserved 100% original and as you can see they were colorful in style and had wooden windows! In the center there is an area called: "Alley of the poor" which we entered but I didn't want to record first so as not to make people uncomfortable and it is let's say the most dangerous part of Maracaibo! There you get many cheap products!🤯🚌🚌🚙
En el centro de Maracaibo hay una parte llamada "el saladillo" el cual conseguimos las casas antiguas donde habitaban las personas en el siglo XVIII muchas de ellas conservadas 100% originales y como puedes ver eran de estilo coloridas y ventanas de madera! en el centro hay un area llamada: "Callejon de los pobres" la cual entramos pero no quise grabar primero para no incomodar a las personas y es digamos la parte un poco mas peligrosa de Maracaibo! ahi consigues muchos productos economicos!🏦⛲👨💻🏰

We went to the Chiquinquira church, the most visited in Maracaibo and I believe that the most important church in Venezuela, everything you see gold is pure gold, it was built in 1943 and since then many renovations have been carried out to make it more and more beautiful, my wife And I was shocked by the level of detail on the benches, it was crafted wood, I even told her that it was easily a church comparable to one in Europe! Estramos a la iglesia Chiquinquira la mas visitada de Maracaibo y creo que la iglesia mas importante de Venezuela, todo lo que ves dorado es oro puro, fue construida en 1943 y desde entonces se han realizado muchisimas remodelaciones para dejarla cada vez mas hermosa, mi esposa y yo quedamos impactados con el nivel de detalle en los bancos, era madera trabajada hasta le decia a ella que facilmente era una iglesia equiparada que no tiene nada que envidiar a una de europa! y claro alli en la foto ves la tabla de madera donde se aparecio la virgen maria!🍍🚙

Existe ese miedo y respeto por la basilica de parte de los Marabinos que nadie intenta nunca robar algo dentro de la iglesia apesar de ser oro o menos profanar las imagenes o las paredes, y es que han ocurridos sucesos donde la iglesia parece que cobra "vida y habla" por ejemplo me cuentan que un gobernador intento llevarse una campana y en ese instante cayo un rayo lo que hizo que el gobernador dejase la campana alli intacta! el 18 de noviembre es simbolo de cultura y se celebra el dia de la virgen de la chinita es feriado regional y todos vienen a la iglesia para hacer peregrinacion!

hehe, the marabinos invent many strange names for their desserts and dishes, for example "brushing" would be like a shaved ice that is made with fruits. In our case we tried soursop and loquat, fruits that are not seen in Portugal! Then we have the tit, which as you can see is also a cold sweet that has the shape of "a woman's tit" haha you have to bite the bag and it is eaten by sucking!😳🤣
jeje los marabinos inventan muchos nombres extraños para sus postres y platos, por ejemplo el "cepillado" seria como un raspado que se hace con frutas en nuestro caso probamos guanabana y nispero frutas que no se ven en Portugal! luego tenemos la teta que como ves es un dulce tambien frio que tiene figura de "una teta de mujer" jaja tienes que morder la bolsa y se come chupando!😨🤪

Bienvenidos a mi ciudad, espero disfruten su estadía. Tienen que visitar la Calle Carabobo ahí en el Centro de la ciudad y también la Parroquia Santa Lucia, El mirador y el Parque Vereda del Lago, si tienen un poco mas de tiempo la Isla de San Carlos y hacer un paseo en Catamarán para ver de cerca El Puente General Rafael Urdaneta.

Excelente repertorio fotográfico amigo, no sabía que andabas por aquí (Venezuela). La mayor parte del clima en muchas regiones de Venezuela es bastante caliente y mucho más en estos meses, pero Maracaibo se lleva el premio mayor en esto, aquí siempre se hacen chistes o bromas al respecto jajaja. Yo soy de uno de los estados vecinos (Lara) y aquí el calor también está fuerte. Me gustó mucho tu publicación, buenas fotos y una excelente travesía, muchos éxitos amigo.
