National Museum of the Philippines Cebu: Malacañang sa Sugbo

Hello Hive Fam, welcome to another blog. For today's content I will be sharing to you our last stop for our museum tour last February 25, 2024. Come join me and together, let us explore the wonders and majestic aura of museums.

If you have followed my previously published blogs, I already have uploaded various museums and this will be the last museum for our Museum Tour 2024. I hope this will not be the last museum that I can visit, hoping to visit many more soon.

Welcome to the National Museum of the Philippines Cebu, it houses various artifacts, flora and faunas, ancient remains, paintings, and historical events of the Province of Cebu and the entirety of Visayas. It is referred to as a treasure box of history, art and culture of the Visayans, especially that of the Cebuanos.

When you enter the museum, you will be amazed of its architectural designs and intricate modern style carvings. The ground floor of the museum contains mostly archaeological and ethnographic collections. There, you can see ancient remains, pottery plus you will have the chance to take a glimpse to the ancient way of life of the Visayan People.

Going up to the second floor, you can experience a glimpse of colonial and contemporary paintings and exhibits. They also have sections dedicated to the floras and faunas found in Central Visayas, showcasing the rich biodiversity of the region.

Did you know!

Did you know that, before having its name as the National Museum of the Philippines Cebu, it was then a building dedicated to the operations of the Port of Cebu? It is also known as Malacañang sa Sugbo because way back it serves as the official residence of the president of the Philippines in the Visayas. Now you know!😉👌

The Museum is located along Plaza Independencia and Fort San Pedro (Aduana Building, Cebu City, Philippines). If you want to go there, you can just easily find it using google maps, or just tell the taxi driver to bring you too the Malacañang sa Sugbo and you will be instantly there depending on the traffic. It's a must try, this is your sign to go to museums, what are you waiting for, explore the majestic glamour of Malacañang sa Sugbo.

That's all for today Hive Fam, I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog for today. Have a nice day ahead. See you on my next blog!✨
