It is a sight to behold; the road that leads North from Fort William into that extruding heart of Scotland that it wears solemnly on it's sleeves. The old toil of men, women and children, the voices of the cold can still be heard like whispers traversing time in the fierce January winds. We should never have set the engine forth in this direction, there is too much uncertainty in Scotland, the land of 'four seasons in a day', but alas we went as the documentary we were shooting allowed us the freedom to avoid the painful travel restrictions of Covid-19.

What secrets does this infamous pass hold. Where is 'Am Fear Liath Mòr sleeping and will the quiet rumble of our engine awake him in his slumber, ready to break his fast- by devouring the fool whom cares to call in this shadowy realm of the highlands. The Big Grey Man, which few eyewitnesses have seen is reportedly to be very thin and over ten feet tall, dark skin and hair, long arms, and broad shoulders. Hidden like a ghost ship amidst the haunting fog the mountains. In the dead of night, a poor traveller may hear the sound of crunching gravel and ice as it stalks and a general feeling of unease around the mountain. With folklore, tangible evidence is always limited, a few grainy photographs here and there and some unusual footprints.

I've never encountered any giant Grey Men, but I have experienced the inevitable feeling of dread that the quiet Scottish Highlands can bestow upon hikers. In the old days mythology exist as a coping mechanism for the unknown, like religion, as humans with conscious minds, we are too aware of ourselves, our existence and pending death that we apply immortality to our soul with dreams and visions of an afterlife. It is the same with old maps of monsters and lands of no return, the people simply did not know what lay beyond the last house of the village, so the imagination filled the gaps.

Sometimes I like to get poetic, it might come across as pretentious, I probably are pretentious to a certain extent but I like to ramble and those who know me best on here will be well aware of my spraffs. Again, thank you for your time, eyes and ears. I love Hive and love showing off my images, films and thoughts. I'm baffled by the fact that the world hasn't caught on. More users is just more growth and more rewards, perhaps the majority of the world are untrusting, they fear everything is a scam, everything good is too good to be true, and we must watch our backs. Ah, the society of fear we live in, a society of fear installed on us by the very Governments we elects.

It's time to decentralize the planet and our race.

Love ya, Cotton.

It's great to have that trip after a long time of pandemic. It looks so cold over there but the scenery is awsome and poetic as you said.

Hi Cotton, love the video. Gives a very nice feeling of driving through the wilderness 😀

Great shots . Love mythology stories and maybe some truth lies there.
