Slapovi Krke NP

Hello my dear Hivean friends!

Hope you are enjoying your Friday! I am having busy days at my new job, mostly learning and by my feeling I would say I am doing pretty well. Beside job and other real life stuff which in my case means mostly family, I have to take a bit of my spare time for my other family – Hive family.
I am thrilled about how well the community overall accepted me and how you are valuing my work. I am really pleasantly surprised when I see from 30 and all the way up to 50+ comments under my posts with most of them being constructive and very engaging. Thank you for that and huge thank you for all the support I am receiving from curation groups and individual curators.
I will do my best to continue to impress and share what I like the most – photography.

After a short intro, it is time for me to jump straight into new set of photos. I will share one of the most recent series I did. That was late summer time this year when I was at the seaside and did a stop at an awesome place in Croatia. I really miss summer, so that is why I decided for that today. But I am looking forward to some snow if we will be lucky to get it some. Especially Christmas time with show would be awesome for the atmosphere. We didn’t have snow on Christmas in Ljubljana for the last 20 years I would say.
Lets get back to that day when I visited Slapovi Krke National Park. To be honest, I don’t know if there is a translation to English, so I can explain what it means; Slapovi means Waterfalls and Krke is the name of the river (Krka). That is a beautiful place for a half day stop. Especially if you are on the way to Dalmacija region and you would like to take a little break from driving. National Park is quite well organized. You have several walkways from one hour trip to whole day exploring of the park. There is also a possibility of a boat cruise. Like I already mentioned we did a half day trip, or maybe even a bit less. Also we didn’t decide for a boat cruise at that time, so we might do that at some other opportunity. What else should I add otherwise, then that the nature is extremely beautiful and totally by my taste. You know I am a huge nature lover and even bigger water enthusiast.
My big wish is to visit Plitvice Lakes, which is probably no. 1 tourist attraction in Croatia. With few words I could described Plitvice as bigger and even nicer than Krka which I am presenting today. I have been to Plitvice when I was a kid and I will plan a trip there soon, but it is a bit more remote than Krka which is on the way to Split – Makarska – Dubrovnik…

I have to share another fun or sad fact…
Like an amateur, I had both my main and reserve battery for my camera empty on that day. So too bad I couldn’t enjoy in taking photos of such a beautiful landscape as I wanted but thanks God smartphone photography is decent, so I have at least something to share with you today. Every mistake cost something and hopefully that one will not repeat anymore and just the other way around my visit to Slapovi Krke National Park has to repeat again, soon!

Have a great day folks!

Sort:

Cellphone didn't do a bad job in capturing some of the detail, most definitely the worst thing to happen is out in a Park and the camera battery refuses to cooperate with you on the day. Next time....

This now gives you very good reason to return, what exceptionally photographic place to visit.

Awesom, I enjoy that other people enjoy in my posts :)

Glad to see you constantly share with us 👌

Hello Andy. You are so blessed to live in a country like Croatia - endowed with a tremendous abundance of natural beauties! And aside from your busy days at work and with your biological and Hive families, it's definitely worth investing some time outdoors and enjoying your passion for photography. I'm truly glad all's well with your new job. Take care, my friend. All the best! 😊

P.S. I'd love to build a resort house close to this breathtaking waterfall. Simply magnificent!

Hey Erne, nice to see you around. Hope you are doing good!

I have to correct you at the beggining :)
Croatia is different country (neighbour) from Slovenia, where I live.
I was thinking, should I promote Croatia or not? I decided I will share a post anyway and looks like I made a wrong choice and now nobody remembers Slovenia anymore :)
Haha, you know me, so you have to know I am just kidding...

But you challenged me and I will prepare a post about Slovenia within the next week!

Oh my bad! So sorry Andy - yes your country is Slovenia. My mind got mixed up haha. 😁 But in fairness, Croatia also has great gifts of nature. But it doesn't mean Slovenia doesn't have her own immense share of Mother Nature's spectacular bounties. I agree it's also a strategic decision for you to promote your own nation, isn't it?

No worries at all!
I was mostly kidding, but you know how they say, there is some truth in every joke :)
So, yes I like to promote Slovenia, but not that I would have some benefits from it. Mainly as I want to invite people here and present our country which is really beautiful and most of the people don't know that.
I am sure I will get at least 5 of my followers to Slovenia over the next 5 years, you being one of them ;)

Thanks for understanding my friend. It was simply an honest mistake - a memory lapse. I do hope I'm not getting too old yet, lol 🤣

Slovenia in the next 5 years? Why not? That would definitely be an exciting challenge for me as I'd truly feel at home in places with a rich abundance of nature. Grateful for counting me in! 😊

Wow. Amazing photos. I would jump and swim in that waterfalls! Looks refreshing!

They really are appealing. But it is not allowed...
I am dreaming of some hidden jungle waterfalls where I would be alone and have a fun times...

That's too bad! It would've been perfect!

@crazy-andy wow Very beautiful water body and the fish in the water. You have captured the amazing natural beauty.👌👌

Wish I would catch a fish or two :)

Astonishing place. Your southern neighbors can be proud of their natural gems too :) Glad to know there are still rivers with such abundant fish populations. Very enjoyable post Andy, as always ;) Have a great weekend!

Awesome to see you around again Petr.
Yes, they have nice country as well, especially seaside is really awesome.
Have a great weekend as well!

Sorry about the battery incident, luckily your cell phone did a great job.
Excellent the place you have visited, if paradise existed, this would be the place; The images that you show us are really very beautiful; congratulations dear friend @ crazy-andy
Good to know that you are doing very well in your new job.

I wish you a wonderful weekend

I am happy to read that cell phone meet you expectations. I might just sell my camera equipment, just kidding :)
This paradise could be at my backyard yes :)

Take care and stay safe!

When I saw the natural beauty in your photo, I hoped that later at night when I slept I would dream of visiting that place because I have never witnessed such natural beauty firsthand. :)

Wow, thank you for such a nice comment. Like I already mentioned in the article, Plitvice lakes are even nicer, much nicer. So prepare for an upgarde, hopefully already next year..

Such a beautiful place, so perfect for its beauty.
Extraordinary! 🥰🥰🤗🤗

Thank you!

🥰🥰🤗🤗 maybe now i can learn from your way of taking pictures.
Have a nice day @crazy-andy

Those falls are amazing, add up the beautiful boardwalk then you got one of the most memorable travel.

I agree.
Nature has so much to offer!

Outstanding images from Krka National Park. Despite your camera's batteries beeing out of power, I'm glad you had your smartphone with you, so you were able to take these photos.

I am glad you like my photos even if I didn't have my camera with me.
Like I said, only one reason more to return.

Wow Andy !! Nice falls !!!

Thanks!
Nice to see you around...

Yes still here ! With the seaphotography contest and articles of photo.

Holy krka! I knew about it, but never got to explore it, we got this in slovenia as well ?
Drove past it several times, it's trully a blessing to live here, so tiny, but luckly so full of precious natural gems hiding very well.

Thank you so much for sharing!

p.s. mind asking where exactly is this place, starting point ? - added on my map :)

With such beautiful photos, and such a magnificent choice of scenery it is little wonder you receive so many comments @crazy-andy! Tell me, is that building on the water a mill? I've only ever seen them, looking like that, being old mills. That water looks like it invites people to swim! I would probably jump in

A nice set Andy, camera phones are here to stay!

Such a beautiful place. You captured it well.
In every captures I have, I am only using mobile phones. So far it's all good.
You still captures beautifully the nature's details..🥰

I give most of the credit to the beautiful nature surrounding. I just clicked :)

Thank you for stopping by and wish you a great day!

Everything about nature is a good click.
😀
You are most welcome! Have a nice day to you, too!
