Tour de Slovenia - Logarska Valley (Waterfall Rinka) / Part IV

in Worldmappin4 years ago

Hello,

Did you miss me?
Yesterday I had one day break from authoring a post here on Hive after several months of daily posting. Brakes are sometimes good right; but you can not say missing a post one day a break.
I might take a break in the future, but not before I share all of my stock connected with new Tour de Slovenia parts. Today is a time for one. It will be shorter than usual, but still covering a nice place and announcing big finale of Tour de Slovenia – Logarska valley which will follow next week if everything will go as planned. Theme will be revealed a bit later in this post.

Today is time for another waterfall in our country. This one is called Waterfall Rinka and is known to be one of the most visited waterfalls in Slovenia. It is attractive in all four seasons. Alpinists usually take advantage of the climate as it freeze during the winter time and create great opportunity for climbing. We were there in the middle of summer and water breeze was really refreshing. As I already said this waterfall is known to be one of the most popular waterfalls in Slovenia, but in my opinion it is not close to the nicest (outside of top 5 for sure). Valley itself is very beautiful, but if we are looking at the waterfall only, I have to admit that I expected more. It is true that it is relatively high with its 90 meters fall which results in being second tallest in Slovenia. Also surroundings are nice as there are many mountain peaks around. I missed more water, but I unfortunately don’t know if that is connected with summer time when water level is on the lowest point or it is just the way it is. I can add that this waterfall is also a spring of Savinja river.
We saw it from below only, but there is a trail towards Okrešelj where you come closer to the waterfall and see it from other perspective as well.
Waterfall is located at the very end of Logarska Valley and there is a parking space available. Trail leads you up all the time, but it is short. We needed only 10 minutes to come to the waterfall. There is also panoramic restaurant called Eagles nest, where you can get a drink or something quick to eat while you are looking at the waterfall.
In any case it is still a nice waterfall, worth visiting, but as it is very popular I expected a little more from it.
You have to look this waterfall together with the destination – Logarska Valley and then the picture is whole different. It is an amazing place, but let’s save that for the next part of my Tour de Slovenia, when it will finally be time for Logarska Valley itself.
A word or two about my photography equipment. I didn’t have tripod and all other necessary equipment for long exposure photography with me, so photos could be better. I took two series as we visited waterfall on two different day with different light as once we were there in the morning and other day in the afternoon.

Hope you will enjoy in my gallery and stay tuned for my future posts where one of them will be about Logarska Valley as a continuation of my Tour de Slovenia series.

Wow, an awesome travel experience shared again. The waterfalls is fantastic and I'm imagining how it will look when it rains heavy 😬
It's good to see from your photographs that you were able to go to the bottom place, where most popular places restrict from going there. Awesome photos friend. 👌👌

I am glad you like my work yet again :)

Yes, it is good that this waterfall has no restrictions. It gives us opportunity to explore it all around :)

Take care!
