EXPLORING THE MILK ROUTE🥶 [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, humans! How are you all doing?

My girlfriend and I decided to kick off 2025 by traveling, and we ventured on the "Ruta Lechera" (Dairy Route), which covers some small towns. For me, though, it's more like the "Cold Route," and in this post, I’ll tell you why.
One thing that defines our lifestyle is our love for discovering new places we’re free spirits who thrive on adventure.

For those who don’t know, I have a 150cc motorcycle, our trusty companion for these trips. One great thing about it is that it doesn’t consume much fuel compared to other bikes in its category.
This route starts north of Medellín, and since we live in the southern part of the city, we had to cross the entire city to begin this journey.

To get started, we took a road in perfect condition through an area called Matazano, near the municipality of Barbosa. What’s great for me, though not so much for my girlfriend, is that as we ascended, the weather turned colder. The area we were heading to sits at around 2,600 meters above sea level.
We decided to stop and stretch our legs at a spot with a natural waterfall. The place also has a religious touch, with a sort of temple built nearby. Unfortunately, there was nothing warm to drink there, like coffee or tinto (a traditional hot coffee drink), which would’ve been perfect for the chilly weather. Still, the site was worth it it’s beautiful, though the water was freezing, haha.

After finishing the climb, we were greeted by sprawling fields dedicated to cattle and dairy production. I learned that much of the milk for one of the country’s largest dairy companies, COLANTA (not a sponsored mention), comes from here. Cows are everywhere you look!

If you plan to take this route on a motorcycle, I recommend dressing warmly because, my friends, it gets very cold. But there are plenty of roads and towns to choose from in this part of Antioquia.
The landscapes are breathtaking, with mountain views that seem to go on forever.

We visited several small towns, but the one that caught our attention the most was Don Matías, where we finally got to eat, explore its streets, and visit its chapel.
One unique thing about this town, aside from its dairy production, is its many factories dedicated to manufacturing jeans.

We’ve started 2025, and now we’re preparing for another trip this weekend with my girlfriend’s family. I believe every trip brings a story to tell.

Saludos humanos como están...

Mi novia y yo decidimos empezar este 2025 viajando y nos aventuramos a realizar la ruta lechera que cubre algunos pueblitos, aunque para mi la ruta del frio y en este post les contare el porque.
Algo que nos caracteriza en el estilo de vida es que nos encanta conocer nuevos sitios y somos almas libres que nos encanta la aventura.

Para los que no saben tengo una moto de cilindraje 150 y ella es nuestra complice de los viajes, algo bueno es que no consume mucha gasolina si la comparamos con otras motos de esta categoría.
Pero bueno esta ruta se hace por el norte de la ciudad de Medellín y como nosotros vivimos al sur de ella nos toca atravezarnos toda la ciudad para empezar este viaje

Para iniciar esta ruta nos toca empezar a subir por unas vías en perfecto estado por un sector que se llama matazano cerca del municipio de Barbosa. Lo bueno para mi y no tan bueno para mi novia es que al subir el clima empieza a cambiar a frio ya que para el sector que vamos esta alrededor de 2600 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
Decidimos parar y estirar las piernas en este lugar que es una cascada natural y muy religioso que hasta construyeron esa especie de templo, lastima que por allí no vendían nada para el frio como un café o un tinto (bebida a base de café caliente ). Pero el sitio vale la pena, es bien bonito y bueno su agua estaba helada jeje.

Ya cuando terminamos la cuesta nos encontramos con mucho pero muchas campos dedicados a la ganadería y a la producción de leche. Algo que me entere es que de aquí es gran parte de la leche de unas de las empresas mas grandes en este campo llamado COLANTA ( no me están pagando publicidad ) por que hay vacas por donde miren.

Si van a hacer esta ruta en moto les aconsejo que se vengan bien abrigados porque amigos hace frio y mucho, pero hay mucho para donde puedan elegir ya que tiene muchas vías y muchos pueblos en este sector de Antioquia.
Eso si los paisajes son bien bonitos y se pierde la vista al fondo de las montañas
Conocimos varios pueblitos pero el que mas no llamo la atención fue uno que se llama DON MATIAS donde por fin pudimos comer algo, visitar sus calles y entrar a su capilla.
Algo típico de este pueblo es que aunque también es lechero, hay varias fabricas que trabajan en la confección de los jean.

La iglesia es hermosa y muy grande, tiene mucho detalle y aqui nos tomamos estas fotos junto con el letrero donde dice el nombre del pueblo que en varias partes de Colombia estan.

Empezamos el año 2025 y en este momento nos preparemos para otro viaje que haremos este fin de semana al lado de la familia de mi novia. Creo que los viajes siempre daran una historia que contar.
