The former name of the place was Palongkee. Many locals call it Panowa also. However, this place is widely known as Cox's Bazar to the traveller of home and abroad. I believe, you have already comprehended that I am talking about Cox's Bazar, the lengthiest natural sandy beach in the world. It is the southernmost district and tourist spot in Bangladesh. This place mainly attracts tourists due to the beauty of the Bay of Bengal and natural loveliness of the hills. Many people from home and abroad flock here to enjoy the beauty of the long sandy beach.
The sea has always been alluring for me. So, at least once a year I used to go to enjoy the beauty of Cox's Bazar. In the last two years, due to the global Corona virus pandemic I could not visit this place. But now as the pandemic has lessened, I went to Cox's Bazar again for a few days last month. I am sharing some pictures of Cox's Bazar beach from this trip.
Not far from the beach in Cox's Bazar, there is a another wonderful beach with large stones known as Inani beach. It is a wonderful sight to see the big waves of the sea stuck on the rocks.
Another sight to discover at Inani beach is the red crab. As soon as the noise of the people abated, the red crabs came out of the hole and started running here and there.
On the way to Inani beach, if you want, you can climb Himchori hill and enjoy its natural beauty. For the visitors, stairs have been made by cutting the hill so that it is not too difficult to climb it. From here you can enjoy the green nature, waterfalls and the beauty of the vast ocean.
One of the main sources of income for the locals of Cox's Bazar is fishing. The boats used by fishermen for fishing are called sampans. All these fishermen are constantly fighting the storms of the sea for their livelihood.
Travelling in Cox's Bazar is always memorable for me. This time was not the different. If you want to visit this place, you can go either by bus, private car or aeroplane. There are direct flights from capital city to Cox's Bazar. There are many nice hotels at Cox's Bazar. It’s better to book a hotel prior leaving Dhaka. Then you have to just inform the hotel authorities and they will pick up you from the airport.
Last but not the least, it was an incredible journey. Specially, my kids enjoyed a lot. This was an unforgettable visit after few years and this memory will remain alive until next visit.
