East Kalimantan Pavilion

in Worldmappin4 days ago

Hello all travelers! How was your weekend? Hope everyone in this community had a great day in a beautiful place. This morning, my husband and I visited Taman Mini Indonesia Indah again. Although this was our umpteenth visit, I still feel happy every time I visit TMII. To be honest, even though I have been here many times, I still haven't visited the whole place because this place is very large. This time, we visited the pavilions of Kalimantan and Sulawesi. One of the ones we visited is the one I will discuss in this post, namely the pavilion and traditional house of East Kalimantan.

The East Kalimantan platform is made of ninety percent wood. The pillars, walls, doors and floor are all made from wood. Even the statues are made of carved wood. The carvings are proof that the ancestors of the tribes in East Kalimantan were creative and talented people. They left a very valuable legacy. In my opinion, ancestral heritage and historical relics are very valuable and priceless.

Every time I visit the traditional house platform, I feel a different atmosphere. I don't know if this is related to spiritual matters or if it's because I like it so much that I get carried away. Whatever it is, I really love Indonesia's customs and culture. Therefore, I always want to return to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah to visit the replicas of traditional houses.

I was actually a bit disappointed with my visit this time, as some of the platforms and traditional houses were damaged and some were under repair. Actually, East Kalimantan's platform is also damaged, but there has been no repair. Maybe because the unique carvings make it difficult to make and take a long time.

In addition to the platforms made of wood, there are also several houses in this area. But I also don't know whether these are all traditional houses from West Kalimantan, or there are also houses inhabited by the caretakers.

Hopefully when I visit TMII again, all the damaged traditional houses and platforms will have been repaired and become more well-maintained. Because honestly I'm a bit uncomfortable seeing traditional houses that look neglected. I don't want to criticize TMII, just saying what I think. Hopefully no one will be offended by my writing.
