HANG SUNG SOT, VIETNAM

in Pinmapplelast month (edited)

Hello everyone!
I recently visited Vietnam. I visited several famous tourist attractions in Vietnam. One of the places I visited was a cave called Hang Sung Sot. The word Hang in Vietnamese means cave, so we can call it cave sung sot. This cave is located in the middle of the waters of Halong Bay. To get there, we need to take a ship or cruise. For me, I ordered a trip package along Halong Bay with a cruise. The package I ordered included a tour guide who would explain the history of Sung Sot Cave. The tour guide is also good at speaking English, making it easier for foreign tourists to understand what the tour guide is explaining. To reach Sung Sot cave, from the pier we have to climb stairs which are quite high because the cave is located at the top. We have to climb quickly because we are only given ten minutes to go around the cave. It was very tiring climbing the stairs to the cave, but when we reached the top, to be precise in front of the cave, we could see a very beautiful view. Then when I entered the cave, I was amazed by the beauty of the Sung Sot cave. While listening to the guide explaining, we can enjoy the beauty of this cave or take photos.

In this cave there are several stones that resemble animals, for example the dragon on the cave ceiling. Halong itself in Vietnamese means descending dragon. Vietnamese people believe that the gods sent a dragon to protect them. That's why this bay is called Halong Bay. With the stone forming a dragon on the cave ceiling, it further strengthens their belief about the Dragon being sent by the gods to protect them from invaders.

Apart from the dragon, there are also stones that form a large turtle. It really looks like a turtle and is considered sacred, and visitors who believe in it even offer money in the form of a turtle. Apart from that, there are also several stones that resemble other animals. But what caught my attention the most was the rock that glows if we turn on the flashlight. Also one thing that caught my attention was the presence of snow rocks in this cave. It is said that this snow rock used to be big, but it melted and became small.

Sung Sot Cave is very large, but visitors don't need to worry about getting lost because the cave is provided with lighting. And visitors don't need to worry about slipping because special paths and stairs are provided for visitors to explore the cave. Because the way out of the cave is different from the way in, we don't have to go down as many stairs as when going up.
