MERAPI JEEP LAVA TOUR

If there is one thing that makes me nervous but also super excited recently, it is when I went on a trip last month, it was riding a Jeep at the foot of Mount Merapi! Actually, I have wanted to try this for a long time... but I have not had the chance. Initially, I found out about the Merapi Jeep Lava Tour from a YouTube content five years ago, finally after a long time I had the chance to try it myself. And I swear... this is different from riding an offroad car. It is just as exciting, but this is more extreme... This is like a roller coaster but in the open nature version, complete with water splashes, rocks, and a really cool view.

Shaking, Dust, and Exciting Screams

‎That day, my friends and I were ready after lunch... We started our activities in the afternoon because we had other activities in the morning. The Jeep driver was very friendly, and as soon as we got on, he immediately accelerated... After only a few minutes, we were already screaming with joy. The Jeep really shook left and right... we had to hold on tightly so we wouldn't get thrown. But it was really exciting!

The terrain is quite challenging, there are many rocky roads, slopes, and rivers that must be crossed... But, that's what makes the adrenaline rise. There are also moments when the Jeep drifts on a dirt road, making us laugh even more and get excited together. ‎

‎Don't ask about the dust, there's a lot of it. But because the atmosphere is exciting, we forget about the dirt. Moreover, the air there is still cool and fresh, so it still feels comfortable even though it's full of challenges. However, for those who want to use masks, they provide masks too. In addition to masks, they also provide raincoats... so that our clothes don't get wet.

Short Duration, Deep Impression

‎The tour wasn't too long, about two hours... That included a stop at the Kaliadem Bunker and the Mini Museum of My Remaining Treasures. But even though it was short... the experience I got was very memorable. Not only because of the challenging route, but also because having fun with friends made the moment even more lively.

‎After getting off the Jeep, I felt satisfied. My body may be sore, but my heart is happy and for some reason, the dirtier it is, the more adventurous it feels... My face is dusty, my hair is messy, but my smile can't be removed from my face.

Tips for Those Who Want to Try

‎For those who want to try it too, here are some tips from me. Bring a mask because the dust is quite thick... But usually it is provided. Don't wear white clothes because it's a shame it will get dirty! Use sunglasses to protect your eyes from dust. ‎Mobile phones or cameras should be given protection. Prepare yourself mentally to be shaken and scream happily, Lol.

If you are planning to go to Jogja, take the time to try the Jeep Lava Tour in Merapi. This is a different experience from usual, suitable for those of you who want to explore the exciting side of nature tourism. If you have tried it too, share your version of the story. Or if there is a more extreme route, it is highly recommended!
