During the late 19th century, Durban residents looking to get away from the heat of the coast started to move inland. Malvern was once four separate residential townships, Malvern, Escombe, Northdene and Moseley. In 1924, the four areas were combined to form the town of Malvern.
Queensburgh is situated approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) south-west of the Durban CBD, with much of the town situated between the uMbilo River to the north and the uMhlatuzana River to the south. Its neighbouring towns/cities are Pinetown to the west, Westville to the north-east, Durban to the east and Chatsworth to the south. GOOGLE

Why am I telling you this? Well, I was privileged to stay with my friend @lizelle in her lovely Airbnb for the second time. This time I was with my mother @pandamama and they, my mom and Lizelle met in person for the first time. What a privilege to meet a friend from Hive after communicating for plus minus 7 years. They met in the early days and when my mom started her @cookwithus community on Hive with @offoodandart, Lizelle was one of the faithful -and a star contestant - always up there with the very deserving winners.

I also met @Lizelle and her son Dean in Amsterdam when I was there for the Amsterdam Music Festival and my mother kept wishing that she could meet her in person and so finally her wish has come true. It was as if they had known each other for years and the truth is they had met and kept contact through Hive all these years.

That’s wonderful! Reminds me of when I got to meet a pen-friend of mine back in around 2010, whom I’d been talking to for decades. She’s an American and came over to the UK to meet her Welsh family. My wife and I drove up to wales to meet them. It was a great day!
So I can imagine what it must have been like for @lizelle and @pandamama getting to meet in real life for the first time!!
