It was a lovely day, so we decided to visit the grounds of the beautiful Kedleston Hall. The Hall was built by Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Baron Scarsdale, and designed by Robert Adam, paying respect to ancient Greece and Rome.SourceThe National Trust took over the Hall in the 1970’s. The four different walks around the estate allow visitors to explore the grounds at their own pace, taking in the stunning views and peaceful surroundings. As you walk through Vicar Wood you get an excellent view of Kedleston Hall.
My favourite part was seeing the little hermitage hut. The idea came from religious hermits to sit and reflect, away from the main house. The hut was in a state of disrepair but was restored in 2017.
In the background, is the Robert Adam Bridge and cascade which was named after the person who designed and built it between 1769 -1771.Source
At the moment, everywhere has the aroma of garlic and the lovely colours of bluebells. It was good to have a walk around whatever the weather.

Beautiful place for a nice long walk! So many old trees guarding the woods. That hut looks like being in a fairy tale! The witch was cooking a secret potion inside!
Love the little fountain! This is ideal for my garden. But it’s hard to find a simple fountain like this here.
