Introduction and acquaintance with Kalat Naderi

I hope you are well, your day is full of energy and smiles! Today I want to talk to you about one of the most important figures in Iranian history; someone whose name is still associated with power, war, and national pride: Nader Shah Afshar.

Nader was someone who, at a time when Iran was in turmoil and insecurity, came with his extraordinary military power and unified the country. At first, he was the commander of the Safavid Shah's army, but gradually he reached the point where he became the king himself. In 1139 AH (1736 AD), Nader was introduced as the king of Iran in the Moghan plain.

His reign was full of wars; from Central Asia to India. With the conquest of Delhi, Nader brought legendary jewels such as the Peacock Throne and the Koh-i-Noor diamond to Iran. He brought Iran to the peak of military power, but unfortunately, all this war and violence also took away the peace and happiness of the people.

Nader gradually became a cruel and cynical king. Even his closest people feared him. It was during this period that he chose Kalat Naderi as his refuge and headquarters. A mountainous city, out of reach, which he could protect like a natural fortress. But towards the end of his life, Kalat became a kind of prison for him… a place where he was isolated from everyone and where he was finally killed by those around him.

Nader Shah can be considered one of the most heroic and tragic figures in Iranian history at the same time; someone who brought Iran to power, but could not save himself from collapse.

Considering the museum they had set up in this place, I tried to take a photo of the map of Iran from the signboard and show you the territory that Nader had at that time.

Statues of Nader Shah were also sold in this museum so that visitors could purchase them.

In the next photo I prepared for you, you can see the only way to enter this city, which can only be entered through a tunnel. This city is surrounded by high mountains that were difficult to cross in ancient times.

This picture above is the unfinished palace of Nader Shah, which was not finished when Nader Shah was killed. Now I want to go inside this palace and see a close-up of it together.

All the chips on the wall are made of stone and I look at it for hours in amazement at how all this delicacy was done by hand at that time. While now all our small tasks are done by artificial intelligence. Or fully automatic machines that we only give orders to. And alas, this palace was not finished and we did not witness its full beauty. Now we go inside the building together. The architecture was such that the sun shone inside all day long and I think that is why this palace is also called the Palace of the Sun.

This carving and painting inside was so strange and wonderful.

Next, I will show you the roof of this mausoleum. In my opinion, the roof of Nikah is complete. There must have been some carvings and patterns carved on it, which are still there.

Next were the water tanks, which seemed to have been the route for transporting water from a recreational area called Qara Su to the inside of this palace. Inside the palace, there were many recessed areas, and its polygonal design was evident in all areas.

Next to this palace, there is a traditional museum that exhibits the customs and traditions of the people of that time, the jobs of the people, wedding ceremonies, and local costumes, which I have shared with you below.
