The Magical Getaway ✨🌅

Have you ever been to a place that has marked a special space in your heart? A place that has touched you differently.

I did. I got to go to a place on my last birthday, which was awaiting on my bucket list for a long time. And due to the pandemic thing going on for the last two years, every trip, every plan was getting stretched for a long period repeatedly. But I got lucky last year since my brother managed to surprise me with a weekend vacay to this beautiful place - 'Khimsar Sand Dunes Village' I was wishing for, on my birthday.
It is a Welcome Hotel and Resort by ITC Hotels, in Khimsar. It is located in halfway between Jodhpur and Nagaur district of Rajasthan, India. There was a Hotel built in the old Khimsar Fort, and another was built as a resort on the sand dunes of the Thar Desert. We obviously chose the stay in the sand dunes village. Truly a 'Hidden Gem of Rajasthan. ✨

Rustic in appearance, in consonance with the surroundings, the luxurious huts were deliberately designed to be eco-friendly to savor the tranquility of the Thar desert in all its majesty! The mini-lake that appears out of nowhere seems to be just a mirage. Isn’t it actually an oasis?

Take in a golden sunrise or a colorful sunset amidst golden sands- even as you sip your cuppa! Down a sundowner, followed by a meal around a bonfire- as millions of stars blink benevolently down at you.

Take a jeep safari into the blackbuck reserve or ride a camel into the wild desert countryside. Also, avail of the leisure activities and the facilities at the fort-a mere 15 minutes by jeep!

Me, with my brother and a friend, reached the Khimsar fort in the evening at 4 followed by a jeep drive to the sand dune village where we booked our stay. Immediately we then ran to our rooms, got freshened up, and hurried to climb the dunes for the sunset views. And my god, the view we got to see from up of the village was incredible. We sat there for hours, as the sun was going down, and watching this beautiful place continuously with the day setting, natural lights going down and the artificial landscape lights of the village litting up. We were clicking pictures and capturing every view both with our cameras and eyes. And Man, believe me, these eyes have still not forgotten the view. I got really excited sitting there and sending pictures to my people to show what they have been missing this whole time. I don't know what was with the vibe of that moment and the whole trip, whether it was because of the day, of the company, or of the place and the weather. Maybe everything was complimenting each other that day. We just didn't wanna leave the place we were sitting, we didn't wanna go to our rooms to sleep, we were thoroughly enjoying the whole magical vibes of that place with the drinks in our hands and sensing the peace and tranquility of the moment. There was a separate space within the boundaries of every hut, a hammock near the lake, and the cool soothing sand and dunes all over. I just didn't slept that night until the sunrise and enjoyed every inch of the place. The place, the rooms, the food, the views, the infra, the service, the vibes,
everything was incredible there. 🤎
