It really was a unique experience for me as well. I did not expect to be going through a cave, I was also a bit nervous from how low the rocks hung down. I think the temple in the river was intentionally put in that spot, I don't think it is ruined at all. I do wonder how high the water might go after a big storm. The construction seemed pretty sturdy though.
