So let us begin being random. I said it would be random as we are starting at Tulum on the way to Valdolid,
I just thought I would throw these guys in, crazy men, spinning fast.
Crazy man running fast back to the bus when they started walking round with their hands open for loose change. My excuse? I had no change.
Valdolid says the tour books is the third largest city in The Yucatan, with a population of just under 60k. It has predominantly Spanish colonial architecture.
Thankfully it was only an overnight stop here so as to visit Chichén Itzá. I say thankfully as there was not a lot to see or do in the city. Hence some randomness for a change. Oh and a church.
It is situated just off the main square and originally built in 1545.
In 1705 it was demolished on the orders of Bishop Pedro de los Rios Reyes, due to the desecration, in the “Crime of Mayors.” A political uprising a couple of years earlier
It was restored in 1706, with a twist; most churches in The Yucatan are built with their altar facing Rome, as punishment for the desecration however the altar was re instated on a N-S axis
When the sun goes down and the band won't play
I'll always remember you this way
RANDOM
So many pavement people, offering up the wares.
Not many buyers today
RANDOMNESS
Dead or alive? One size fits all.
Come join the party at eternal darkness, a club that never closes.
After the storm.

Google tells me Senor Trakalosa is a popular 30 yr old Mexican crooner. He even has tracks on Spotify for what its worth.
A few bits of naive street art were to be found, surreal is a good word.
So, that is my little stroll around Valdolid.
But you know what?
I still haven't found what i'm looking for

Ha,ha,ha the mad men. I saw them too and what I felt was fear, but they know what they are doing. I loved your photos. That village is very nice and I hope to see your pyramid walk soon. Regards.

Maybe what you were looking for was not there. Not a busy town during the day but colourful nonetheless. Seems as though there wre many vehicles opn the street during the night though.
cheers @momogrow , it was an interesting place in its own right I guess, I had never thought about the traffic, or why it was busy, now i have that need to know LOL
( sorry for late response, away on my travels, when i had a bit of spare time the wifi was crap, when the wifi was good time was short. Ho hum)
Here in Spain there is a city, Valladolid. Probably it has some connections with this colourful city in Mexico you showed us (colonization must have a role in it)
hi @mipiano , yes that's a good point, still a very strong Spanish influence in Mexico, obviously the language but in place names and architecture too. ( sorry for late response, away on my travels, when i had a bit of spare time the wifi was crap, when the wifi was good time was short. Ho hum)
Nice to visit not to live!
!BEER
cheers @joanstewart yes a quick visit is enough. ( sorry for late response, away on my travels, when i had a bit of spare time the wifi was crap, when te wifi was good time was short. Ho hum).
Guessed you were off on travel again, enjoy!
cheers, I was just back in UK and jet lagged ho hum! the joys of long haul, just under 3 weeks in Bangladesh, my god I thought India was manic but this place is numero uno of all the places I have visited.
Mountainous regions of India I believe to be stunning with small villages dotted through valleys. City live you can keep, way too many people for my comfort zone. Glad you enjoyed it, sounds like another good time had.
It was MANIC!!!!!!!!
