I went to a therapy in Durano Eco Farm and Spring Resort - Carmen, Cebu

Hello 👋! Hi! Mabuhay! How have you been Hivers? I hope everyone's doing fine!

It's summer season in the Philippines. These months have the highest heat index in record. That means, wherever you go, you have to bring with you your umbrella, and hat for sunscreen protection and a bottle of water to keep hydrated. Moreover, people go to the beaches and pools in the country to keep cool and relax.

In this blog, I'll share to you our cool therapeutic experience in Durano Eco Farm.

Durano Eco Farm and Spring Resort

The farm and spring resort owned by the Durano's is located in one of the mountainous barangays of Carmen, Corte. It is located in the middle of the rainforest where pools are made and built in the river. The main source of water of the pools is cold spring which is natural.

It has numerous pools ( if not mistaken, 8 pools) connected to each other. The flow of the water upstream goes down and down to other levels of pools, thus, the water remains fresh, cool and clean.

How to Get There?

To get there, one easy way is through a motorbike. But it's not a problem if you do not have one. From the city bus terminal, take a bus going to north. Any route will do. It will take you an hour or two to travel. From there, tell the bus driver to drop you off in Carmen National High School. There, a barangay road, that's going to this resort. Take a habal-habal (motor for hire) to bring you in this place. It is 4.5 kilometers away from the national road. Once you see this sign (in the photo below), take a right turn. Then, you'll reach the destination.

However, if you bring your own vehicle, just navigate the map and surely you have the easy access going here. Don't worry, they got a wide parking space for you.

On the other hand, you have to pay an amount of 100 peso for the entrance fee ( 1.84 US dollars). You can bring your own foods and drinks in there.

Now, let's begin our adventure!

The Path Less Taken

Upon entering the gate, we saw different paths going down to the pool. Yes, you read it right! Going down!

The sound of the flowing water and the loud chit-chats and laugh of the crowd were heard.
There were people ahead ahead of us but we noticed that they took another path. We were so excited to take this empty path to see and know the reason why.

Having the adventurous spirit, I was delighted to see the beauty of the nature. It was only the two of us that took that path. So we had all the time to enjoy walking down the pool.

The crowd must have missed these. A river with clean water and the tall trees as we went down.

What's left behind

When we reached the end of the path, there a pool and a corner that looked abandoned. Now we concluded the reason why it's taken was maybe because of these reasons:

• It was quite far from the other pools. You had to walk for a hundred steps or two. Luckily, it was not a rocky road.

• Because of these views that left unattended. There were no people in that area aside from us. The river and first pool was not totally maintained.

Well, it was okay for us. It doesn't seem so bad at all.

Refreshing Greens

The place is amazing. It is filled with different kinds of plants and flowers. They added some freshness. Wherever you look at, all you see are the refreshing greens.

Levels of Fun

Each level of pool has different levels of fun perfect for kids and adults. The structure of its pools looked natural because of its rough texture of rocks. So keep safe when you swim to avoid injuries and scratches.

And because of the hot weather, people tend to stay longer in the water. Thus, having fun.

Quality Time with Beau

More importantly, we also had the fun and the quality time. The coldness of the water is reviving. Indeed, the place is a 10/10 for us.

More about the Resort

Before I forgot, let me share to you some of the stuffs in the resort Here are some of the amenities that the resort offered.

Cottages

If you go with your family, the cottages can accommodate large numbers of people with its affordable price. During that time, we saw lots of families and circle of friends savoring the cool view of the spring.

Tables

But if you are alone, or you have your partner with you, they also offer tables for 300 pesos that come with four chairs. In our case, we just looked for uncrowded corner so we can put our belongings. No need to worry, the place is safe.

Comfort and Wash Rooms

If you are ready to go, they have lots of rooms for washing and toilets.

Grilling Station

And worry no more for grilling. They got you! Just bring your own charcoal for fire.

Rooms to stay

If you plan to stay overnight, they have air conditioned rooms which are affordable. Though I was not sure of the price, but it is estimated to be aroun a thousand peso per night.

But if you want a more amazing view of this tropical resort, you may opt to have the tree houses which are a bit of expensive compared to the ordinary one.

PROHIBITED AREA

My love for the river is immensely deep. When I saw this part, i couldn't resist but wonder why this area is prohibited. Nevertheless, I thought it was better that way, to preserve some parts of this resort.

Indeed, it was a wonderful therapeutic adventure in this resort. One thing is for sure, whatever the season is, keep safe and well.
