So it's been a while since my last post so here I am, back with a travel Blog so I recently took a trip that was different from my usual travels. So instead of bringing my kids, my partner and I went alone together with our friends. It felt like a little guilt and strange at first, but my friend's words was stuck with me "Spending quality time as a couple makes our relationship stronger."

So this trip was our chance to be more than just parents but this time we got to be a couple again and remembering what that felt like. It was also a wonderful way to reconnect.

Our destination was Aloguinsan, Cebu. Not our usual haunt which is the most beautiful and enchanted place Hermit's Cove, but a place famously dubbed the "Mini Palawan of Cebu" the breathtaking Bojo River.

Our early morning journey led us to the entrance of a place that felt straight out of a fairytale yes it more likely enchanted. The first thing you'll encounter is the boardwalk, Just a cool wooden walkway under some nipa palms. The air is fresh and the leaves make a nice, quiet sound. It is a great spot for taking photos, like for Instagram. like I said the place was like you're stepping into an enchanted forest.

The walk isn't long, but it's a journey in itself. like a little mental break from the city. Once we reached the main area, we were greeted with warm smiles and a simple,beautiful sign that we arrived at the Bojo River.The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They also offered us a cottage to rest in and it is free of charge which was a thoughtful touch that made us feel right at home.

Just relaxing there, we felt so peaceful. It was a huge change from the city noise. All we could hear was the birds, some people laughing, and the river gently hitting the rocks. The air felt so clean and fresh.And the river, It was amazing the water was super clear in which you could see right to the bottom.

After a few minutes of After a few minutes of just chilling, we decided it was time to change into our swimming attire. We left our belongings at our table without a second thought.We felt totally safe because the staff were really honest and they had cameras everywhere. It is a small thing but it just shows how much you can trust them.

Choosing Your Journey: Kayak or Yacht?

With our sunscreen applied and our swimming attire on, it was time to get a life jacket and it a must for safety, and it's included for free.

Alright, time to pick how to explore the river ☺️ You have two choices, First a chill kayak trip for a more up-close experience or a bigger yacht tour if you want more space to relax.

Kayak

For couples,the kayak was the perfect choice.You can rent a two person kayak for just 200 pesos. It is an intimate way to explore the river, with a staff member that will guide and give you a tour. The kayak allows you to paddle at your own pace and giving you a sense of freedom aside from that it is a chance that you can feel truly connected to the water.

Yacht

If you're traveling with family or a group of friends,the yacht might be a better option but it is a bit pricier at 500 pesos but it is well worth it.The yacht tour takes you farther all the way to the mouth of the river.

This is also where the magic really happens.You can take a refreshing swim in the open water and they have this floating cottage where you can enjoy jumping and swimming, on a good day,you can even get to do some coral and turtle watching.When we visited, the weather was a bit wavy so we didn't get the chance to see as much but it was still an incredible experience.

Prepare for Your Adventure

To make your trip to Bojo River unforgettable and a little preparation goes a long way.Always check the weather before you go for the best experience.Do not forget to pack your favorite swimming attire and plenty of sunscreen. And most importantly is to bring your family and friends to share the memories with them.
