Hai Van Vien - a beautiful picnic area in the middle of Hai Van Pass

What do you usually do on weekends?
For me, on weekends, if I don't go back to my hometown with my family in the countryside, I usually stay in the city where I live and work, to have fun with my friends. I am a person who loves to picnic and camp overnight, with my friends eating and chatting with each other. After a week of hard work, at the weekend we will meet and share stories together. And the place that I camped last week was a picnic area in the middle of Hai Van Pass, which I will introduce to you below.

Hai Van is the boundary pass between Da Nang city and Thua Thien Hue province, is one of the most beautiful pass roads in Vietnam with one side being majestic mountains, one side is the blue sea, with beautiful beaches, bends along the foot of the pass along with high steep cliffs. Anyone who comes to Da Nang, the city known as this livable city, must go up this pass once, and especially have to ride a motorbike on the winding road. It was an indescribably wonderful feeling. This pass road is quite dangerous for weak drivers, requiring careful driving and careful observation, but when conquering this pass road, the feeling is very refreshing and as if you are the winner.

The campsite that we went to is called Hai Van Vien, located in the middle of the pass, 20km north of Da Nang city center, with coordinates (16.1459356, 108.375760). The campus of this place is located in the middle of the pass and close to the sea, there is also a coffee shop, but because we came in the rain, I couldn't take pictures of the coffee shop. At night, if you come here and sit on the terrace of the restaurant, in nice weather you will be able to see the city at night from the direction of Hai Van Pass, the scenery is very beautiful with the city in the shimmering electric lights far away place. When entering the campsite, you will have to pay an entrance ticket with the price of 100,000 VND / person, we include 6 people, the total ticket price is 600,000 VND. We bring our own food and tents and do not rent them from the campsite owner. If you do not have a tent, you will camp in the tent area of the campus, the price of each tent is 400,000 VND / tent and you can sleep as many people in it.

Because we brought our own tents, we chose the area located about 200m away, going down to the sea, where there is a rose garden that is blooming red in the whole space, actually when I just walked down to the garden. I was surprised because there is a wonderful rose garden like this right on Hai Van pass, and being able to camp, play and wake up in the morning in the middle of a rose garden is really wonderful. And with the price for the entrance ticket is not too expensive, this is indeed a great campsite. Next to the rose garden, there is a path leading down to the sea. Standing in the flower garden, you can see the sea lying on one side, the feeling is very interesting. In the middle of the flower garden, people built 3 wooden stalls, located higher than the flower garden, and we decided to set up a tent on those wooden stands.

Here, the campsite owner has set up very bright electric lights, so at night you don't need to bring your own lights. The lights with shimmering golden light created a romantic, warm scene and we got some beautiful pictures. We started setting up tents and setting up places to sit and eat, we have 3 tents for 6 people, before dark, we took advantage of taking pictures and got excellent pictures. With the perfect view, the sea on one side, the mountains on the other, and we're standing in the middle of a garden full of red roses, it's impossible to find a better place for a weekend camping trip the week with friends like this.

After we finished taking comfortable photos, it was just getting dark, and we started to prepare the food and drinks, including grilled chicken and grilled meat that we had prepared. The owner's charcoal grill is available here, so you don't have to worry about grilling equipment, we use the campsite owner's charcoal grill without having to bring it. The drink we brought ourselves was beer. For camping, or picnics, perhaps a beer or a little wine is indispensable, it makes us happier with stories that last until midnight. A little music through the Bluetooth speaker makes the space more interesting and chill. We had a good time together with food, alcohol, and stories shared. And this is our first camping this year after a long and rainy winter.

Early in the morning, we woke up around 6:30 am, to catch the sunrise on the sea. But we weren't so lucky as it rained again this morning, and we couldn't see the sun rising from the sea. Having a good and deep sleep after a few cans of beer, I woke up very refreshed in the morning. The first thing I did was I opened the door of my tent, looking out over the rose garden and the sea, it was such a wonderful feeling that I can't describe it. Breathe in the fresh air interspersed with the smell of the sea, watch the bright red roses bloom and the raindrops fall, inhale the fragrance of this rose, so much fatigue disappears, just rest in peace in my soul.

It started to rain lightly, and we also started packing our tents. We captured a beautiful moment when it was raining, but on the sea, there was a bright streak of sunlight shining into the sea, below was a big boat. I'm imagining it like a flying saucer of aliens shining down on our earth like in the movies that I often watch, that moment is really beautiful and wonderful. From here you can see the city in the distance, Thuan Phuoc bridge crosses the Han River at the mouth of the river from the west to the east of the city. Fishermen's fishing boats sail on the sea early in the morning. This wonderful scene is right in front of our eyes at this Hai Van Vien campsite.

We had time to look back at the moment of the early morning with the sea, with the beautiful poetic rose garden, take advantage of the fresh air that the bustling city could not have, and return to our daily work. day after a fun weekend with my friends. Because of the rain in the morning, I couldn't take a photo of the coffee shop, hopefully, one day we will come back here to introduce you to this picnic area in Hai Van pass.
